I have all types of red light therapy products I invested in when fractured back a few years back, including similar bulb to this. This one interested me for its adjustable socket clamp, besides the bulb. I was more than pleased when I took it out of the box; I could see it is a quality build, not cheap for these kinds of therapy lamps. Wish I had this clamp years back as it solves putting this bulb into positions I wanted to with a clamp end that really holds good to my desktop edges and lets me put it upside down as well to point upwards to places I want to get that way. I found the lamp to operate great, could feel the heat. Of course I have one of my special glasses for eye protection just for the red/blue spectrum. I could feel it is a strong lamp as a red light, and look forward to target areas I've wanted to with this kind of direction. When you understand the parameters of these lights, at the cost it is getting put out there, it is worth it with its portability and ability to direct it hands free, that it's got 660nm Red and 850nm Infrared Light, and has a practical long electric cord with a switch that allows longer sessions without the limits of batteries, not to mention will continue to be useful for years not dependent upon a built-in battery. ... show more

I didn't order this for pain so I can't say how it works there. I wanted some 660nm light for my face. Of course, it would take a good while to see results so it's too early to tell. But I can say the light is intense. When I first turned it on pointed at the wall I was disappointed because it didn't seem bright. But I tried a little 2 minute session on my face as they recommend to begin at before moving up to longer times. And wow, even though my eyes were closed I had fuzzy vision for several minutes after. So it is definitely intense. I'll need to get some goggles maybe like I've seen for tanning beds to be safe. That will cover my eyelid area while leaving the area around my eyes exposed to the light therapy. I'm hoping this will help with creases or wrinkles starting around my eyes.
