  • Well made unit, works great
Color: Black Material Type: Non-Ducted
I bought 2 of these units and because of the low price I thought they might not be the greatest. But they are far better made than the Dometic brand that came with my Newmar motorhome. BOTH units failed on the dometic for the exact same reason, they ran copper pipes next to each other as they entered the evaporator chamber and vibration wore a hole in the pipes as they eroded each other. These units are much better laid out, pipes are sleeved and not routed next to each other. I know this because I had to take off all the covers to adapt the unit to my ducted motorhome. I didn't want to cut through my ceiling and built in ductwork. The opening in the roof is the same 14x14 but you have to make sure the in and the out for the ducted ceiling motorhome is blocked correctly. Just look at your old one to see what I mean. I like that this unit uses a separate fan for the condenser and evaporator, it is much quieter and far less vibration than the Dometic unit. Almost as quiet as a mini split and it really pumps the air, both cool for summer and hot for winter. Better flow than the stock units. I love the remote control and ceiling display. I ran the control wire (4 thin wires in the cable) down through the ceiling and just put up the display shell that goes on the inside. I cut the wire and reconnected on the inside to reduce the hole size through the ceiling. It has a connector to the control unit. Most of you will use it the way it is meant to be installed, as will I on my next project. This is so much easier to use than the the built in non remote, hard to get at, confusing, controller that came with the motorhome. I am super happy. I did all the work myself at 71 years of age, the units weight about 100 lbs. I rented a material handler to lift the units, I highly recommend spending the 75 bucks. It helps to have a strong son. I almost took off a star for a couple of very small cracks in the plastic top shell, but they are not structural hard to see and very minor. Just be ready for that, I didn't bother the factory because it wasn't worth it. The shells look and work just fine. I am going to buy another 15k unit for my camper van conversion, these are a terrific value. ... show more

  • Quiet and Cool
Color: White Material Type: Non-Ducted
Our RecPro RV Air Conditioner 15K was just what we needed. Our old AC was 7 years old, the air it was putting out was 65 degrees at best and was very loud. The RecPro was easy to install, it is putting out 46 degree air, the outside temperature is 82 degrees. It has 3 fan speeds, quiet and cold (compared to our old one) I like the remote control, it has a sleep timer and several other features. The hardest part was getting it up on the roof but we figured it out. I recommend this AC for anyone whos RC AC is failing to keep you cool. I would order from the RecPro Web site, they have much more detailed information. I learned that rooftop ACs cannot be recharged, they must be replaced. ... show more

  • Cold and excellent customer service
We bought this unit for a 40’ RV in Texas with very very warm summers. It has been 96 since the unit was installed. Not only did the unit get here in less than a week but it had a crack in the shroud which with one seller contact had an answer from them and had the new shroud in three days. You can’t beat that. The installation was easy and it runs so quiet with excellent cooling. The cool air comes through our ducts just fine I had read in reviews some did not but could not be happier with this unit. It cools the entire downstairs part (it’s a fifth wheel) and looking forward to get a smaller one the 13,000 for our bedroom upstairs. We are so glad our mobile handyman recommended this unit and only took him 30min to install. He said he has put in about 100 of these units without any complaints on them at all. And it has a very nice look to it and have filters you can clean instead of having to buy this awful charcoal foam to replace them. 🥰🥰🥰🥰😘😘😘 if there was a 10 the would get it from me. ... show more

  • Much quitter but cooling is a ?
Looks great and quiet. Doesn't blow very hard to get through the ducting. Very hard to get the filters back in, Had to remove it from the ceiling to get them in. cooling is questionable.

  • Great unit
Color: Black Material Type: Ducted
We bought a 5th wheel that only came with 2 roof top ac units. One up front in master br and on over the kitchen living room area that is vented through the ceiling and vented to the back of the 5th wheel in the bunk house. Well the first camping trip the bunk house was hot a can be kids were sweating and we had 4 fans blowing back there. We have a roof vent in place over the bunk house with a 14x14 hole. Called manufacturer to ask if my unit was prepped for 3rd ac gave them the Vin # they said nope not prepped. So I was like oh well I will run mh own 12 Guage wire through ceiling and down through cabinet out bottom of 5th wheel and plug it into a receptical at the camp ground each time. So we took out roof vent and to our surprise 😮 there was already a 12 Guage wire ran to a j box for us. I went and looked in the breaker panel and sure enough there was a 20 amp breaker labeled 3rd ac/optional. So we have the unit installed in about 2 hours. Ran a bead of roof sealant around the top and set the unit right on top and it fit like a glove. The wireless remote is amazing and it has the thermostat built into it so we mounted the remote to the wall in the bunkhouse and it works amazing!!!! If your rv is prepped for a 3rd ac or your replacing an existing unit this is awesome. It cools and heats really well. No thermostat wires to run. So simple. I am a swimming pool technician not an rv mechanic. But this was so easy to install. The inside unit we bought wirh it just vents the air directly into the bunk house I did not want to use the vent system as this unit is specifically cooling my kids bunkhouse. And the temperature display is right on the unit in the ceiling in a digital read out. I would highly recommend this unit. So glad the manufacturer was wrong about it not being prepped. One last thing I will say is that while we were on the roof we found 2 spots were the manufacturers cut the roof too big around 2 of the vent pipes and bare wood was showing. I sealed those up while I was up there as well. It's sad how many issues a brand new rv has right out the door. They should have better quality control. Anyway thanks for reading my review............. ... show more
