  • Well made unit, works great
Color: Black Material Type: Non-Ducted
I bought 2 of these units and because of the low price I thought they might not be the greatest. But they are far better made than the Dometic brand that came with my Newmar motorhome. BOTH units failed on the dometic for the exact same reason, they ran copper pipes next to each other as they entered the evaporator chamber and vibration wore a hole in the pipes as they eroded each other. These units are much better laid out, pipes are sleeved and not routed next to each other. I know this because I had to take off all the covers to adapt the unit to my ducted motorhome. I didn't want to cut through my ceiling and built in ductwork. The opening in the roof is the same 14x14 but you have to make sure the in and the out for the ducted ceiling motorhome is blocked correctly. Just look at your old one to see what I mean. I like that this unit uses a separate fan for the condenser and evaporator, it is much quieter and far less vibration than the Dometic unit. Almost as quiet as a mini split and it really pumps the air, both cool for summer and hot for winter. Better flow than the stock units. I love the remote control and ceiling display. I ran the control wire (4 thin wires in the cable) down through the ceiling and just put up the display shell that goes on the inside. I cut the wire and reconnected on the inside to reduce the hole size through the ceiling. It has a connector to the control unit. Most of you will use it the way it is meant to be installed, as will I on my next project. This is so much easier to use than the the built in non remote, hard to get at, confusing, controller that came with the motorhome. I am super happy. I did all the work myself at 71 years of age, the units weight about 100 lbs. I rented a material handler to lift the units, I highly recommend spending the 75 bucks. It helps to have a strong son. I almost took off a star for a couple of very small cracks in the plastic top shell, but they are not structural hard to see and very minor. Just be ready for that, I didn't bother the factory because it wasn't worth it. The shells look and work just fine. I am going to buy another 15k unit for my camper van conversion, these are a terrific value. ... show more

  • Works great
Works great so far, somewhat easy to install hardest part was getting on roof but I did use a tractor bucket to help. It does have heat pump as well and I got the ducted unit, quiet and blows better than pervious one.

  • Great replacement for the noisy old Dometic
Color: White Material Type: Non-Ducted
Shortly after getting our RV we came to the conclusion and the Domestic AC unit was louder than most jet engines we had come across. After reading lots of reviews we took the plunge and got this one. It was not hard to put in and is way quieter and cools better than the original. Very glad we got this. ... show more

  • They work really easily
They were super easy to hook up. Discontinued the thermostat. It has a remote. Digital display on the unit itself. Does not seem to get a cold as you'd expect but they do do heat as well

  • Quiet and Cool
Color: White Material Type: Non-Ducted
Our RecPro RV Air Conditioner 15K was just what we needed. Our old AC was 7 years old, the air it was putting out was 65 degrees at best and was very loud. The RecPro was easy to install, it is putting out 46 degree air, the outside temperature is 82 degrees. It has 3 fan speeds, quiet and cold (compared to our old one) I like the remote control, it has a sleep timer and several other features. The hardest part was getting it up on the roof but we figured it out. I recommend this AC for anyone whos RC AC is failing to keep you cool. I would order from the RecPro Web site, they have much more detailed information. I learned that rooftop ACs cannot be recharged, they must be replaced. ... show more

  • Buyer beware the company is hard to deal with and product is not quality
When it came to refund, they said they would give me a refund however I would have to have the air conditioner either removed from my roof and ship back, which would leave me with a gaping hole in the roof of my RV. I would have to climb up on the roof myself and remove the motherboard from the top of the air conditioner. I'm 70 years old so unable to do this plus have a vision handicap. The third solution was to return the inside bottom white ceiling cover, which contained another circuitboard. This would leave a big space in my ceiling with a black piece of steel hanging very unattractively in my RV. The unit never worked upon purchase. It blows very weak airstream and the airstream that comes out is not nearly cold enough to cool the RV cubic inch space that the unit claimed it would be able to do. it is a non-namebrand product I have a Dometic air conditioner and another RV that's the same size and it works flawlessly ,the other RV is 37 foot long and is a camping trailer and the one that I bought this unit for is a 35 foot fifth wheel. Just a poorly made cheap product no name brand. I tried to save money and got burnt either way. It cost me. I've already spent $350 on the installation and now the company wants me to spend more to return it. ... show more
