Reality exceeded expectation Its quite loud and its quite scream-ish, like what you think the reaper sounds like when screaming. Price was not among the lowest ones, but if you dont want dissapointment, this is it. I dont care so much about looks, but it does looks factory-maded and not hand crafted, in case you do want something that looks primitive maded in some jungle by a deadly aztec tribe. ... show more

This is an awesome whistle. I got one (mostly) because it fits my room's macabre motif but when I blew into it, I was very surprised how easy it was to use. Soft noise came at first as I wasn't blowing very hard...took it outside for a full volume test and it was exactly as I expected. Crisp, loud sound that sounded like a banshee wailing. I brought this to a forest preserve to try it out as I didn't know how loud it would be (i have animals at home and didn't want to stress them out or hurt their ears) and oh my, I kept giggling and blowing into it. the design is great, the beeswax on the mouth piece is a nice touch, and the intricate design at the bottom is stunning! it sounds like a screaming banshee and will either be my new gr*pe whistle or mating call, haven't decided yet. ... show more

I live in the country, peaceful and quiet, but some times neighbors are annoying, specially the one play drums, and his annoying dogs. This whistle is been doing a great job, scaring the heck to the neighbors, I walk around my 5 acres property in the middle the night and the leave quickly. The sound is terrifying even dogs go away. I was skeptical. I watched a lot of videos on these things, and frankly, the smaller, plastic, China-made ones sounded better on the videos. But, this is friggen AWESOME! I am asthmatic and can blow a little or a lot to get great eerie screams from this. If I blow softer, it's more of an anguished cry. If I blow harder, it's actually a little too realistic to do too often. I am an indie musician/producer and I was really hoping this would make more than just one sound, even requiring much practice to find that one sound. I have been pleasantly surprised by the variation I can get out of this. Short, strong bursts sound like some sort of screeching monkey in the jungle. Cupping your hand over the bottom in different ways will change the timbre in unexpected ways. Add some vocal chord noise to it (think kazoo) and it gets other-worldly. I think I can hear multiple voices coming from this thing, when I do that just right. After realizing so much more than blood-curlding screams were possible from this *instrument*, I have absoltely zero buyer's remorse for the higher price. Plus... you are supporting non-China-made products. That is very important, these days. Anyway, these guys deserve every penny. THANK you for this experience! Quality seems fine for something some are warning may be a little fragile. I am treating it gingerly, and I think it will likely last my lifetime. I would not toss it into your pocket to bump around with. It's more of a shelved instrument, imho. And, if you are still on-the-fence about getting one, let me tell you one more thing - this Screaming Aztec Death Whistle works wonders on long, frustrating conference calls. ... show more

The 1st one I received did not sound like the video. I contacted the seller and got a refund for a new one and the new one works much better. Seller was super friendly and professional and helped me with the issue. The new one is alot louder and sounds just like a real death whistle. Very unsettling noise. I love this! ... show more
