What a fantastic little vehicle! I ordered this for a grandson who is going to flip when he receives this, he is enamored with construction trucks. I took it for a spin as the video in the product description was intriguing. First off, the color is flawless, nicely done and compliments the silver bucket loader. Surprisingly, the vehicle isn’t heavy, has a nice weight, but not bulky or clunky in any way. The size is ideal, not like a huge tonka truck, small but mighty. The treads run well, not herky jerky and have great maneuverability. Love the way the bucket loader can pick up stuff, pretty strong. The fun part of the vehicle are the lights and noise. And no, it is not super noisy, I suppose if it ran non-stop it could get annoying, but I rather enjoyed it as it was befitting for that vehicle. The remote does allow you to control both the noise and lights. It’s amazing the amount of functionality on the remote, it may take a few tries to master the movement. There are absolutely no instructions so don’t go looking for them! There are 2 rechargeable batteries which are used in the vehicle. A USB cord is provided to charge the batteries. You will need batteries for the hand remote as none are provided. I do want to mention that the battery cover on the vehicle is a bit of a struggle to take on and off. There is a screw that fastens down the cover, unfortunately, it doesn’t really work. It keeps spinning when you attempt to screw or unscrew it. You may need to turn the vehicle upside down to get the screw to fall out (or use a flathead to pry it off). Even if the screw is loose, do not pull up on the cover as you have to slide it off. Overall the vehicle is great and will be a lot of fun for just about any kid, highly recommended! ... show more

Got this for my 5 yr old son for his birthday. He absolutely loves it. He loves driving it around and using the remote to control all the different motions, lights, and sound. I love that it came with two rechargeable batteries so one is in the excavator and one on the charger at all times. The only downside is that because the battery is only AA size, it doesn’t last but maybe a couple hours before it has to be swapped out and the battery cover screws on so it can be a little annoying. This RC excavator seems like it is good quality. I'm going to have to update my review as I tested it and it works good but it is put up for my son's bday. It has 2 rechargeable batteries with a charger and seems to last for a while and it's easy to change them quickly. It may not be the traditional orange color of most construction trucks but that make it stand out more and I'm sure my son will call it the boss of the construction site!     • OK to heck with giving this to the grand kids... Grandpa need this one.
Such a fun toy. Not sure if I want to give this to my Grandson or not. I'll never get to use. It is nice to have an extra battery for longer Grandpa play time. The Excavator works very well. The cab and bucket rotate to end points than one has to reverse. That is fine as with 360° rotation one would have to deal with twisting internal control wires or have to deal with contacts which would get dirty and then loose control of the cab/bucket. The tractor as a whole works great and is really enjoyable. The excavator is made out of plastic and feels like it will hold up well. The entire toy is fairly light weight so one is not going to dig in packed material. But sand or loose dirt is where this unit shines. Bottom Line... If you want a toy that is fun and you will never get a chance to use it, cuz of kids, then this RC Excavator is the ticket. Highly Recommend. ... show more
