  • This thing is way more rugged than expected!
Color: Sx500 - Green
When it came, I was like... This thing is heavy! I guess that's due to the 3 batteries.... Assembly was easy but had to tweak the brakes a little as they were kind of tight. The kickstand on this thing could hold up an elephant! My little guy isn't really ready for this yet due to his height, but should be all set by summer. I can't attest for performance, due to winter here in the Northeast but if you have a little guy looking for a dirt bike, this is the one. Ideal age for this would be 10+ .... I got this due to the fact that the age ranges are on these are way off. My 6 almost 7 year old is just a bit small for the frame and his ability to touch the ground. He had the MX125 but it didn't really have any sack which is why I went with this. Just make sure your guy has good balance because due to its weight, they need to be able to hold it up. It's like a hundred pounds. ... show more

  • Been a year, ,,,update!!
Color: Sx500 - Green
Well its been a year, what can I say...ITS AWESOME. My kiddo is 7 and she rips on it. Im a 200# fat drunk at times and it pulls her AND I around when I am too blitzed(ok to lazy) to walk back from my neighbors. We clocked it with me at 19mph and both of us(she is 43lbs) it goes 18..Just her it will do 22-24mph. Battery last for EVERRRRR and bike has gave us ZERO issues, I got it on sale here for $390 and should of bought 2. She is getting a 4 wheeler this year and I get this, I am doing the 11000Watt upgrade and forks, wheels, battery and it will be my new drinking pit bike.. ... show more

  • Day 1 review: It's awesome!
Color: Sx500 - Green
I read all the reviews here and everywhere else about all the razor electric motorcycles... pretty much a split batch of "best thing I ever bought" and "total crap, run away". Usually in those cases you can either bet on the manufacturer buying positive reviews, or competition buying negative reviews... but there really isn't any competition in this space. Honda shouldn't be threatened... this thing isn't going to beat a 50cc at anything other than noise. So, I was worried, but couldn't help myself from taking a shot on this. It arrived by amazon truck 2 days after ordering, and I carried it directly off the truck. I've read a lot of complaints of these arriving damaged, but mine was perfect. The packaging is great, and I don't see how they could get damaged without severely abusing the package. It did say not to tumble the package and bold "THIS END UP", and it was upside down and then tipped vertically before handing it off to me, so the delivery people aren't following instructions, but no harm done. Assembly is brain-dead simple, even when they give you the instructions for an MX500/650 instead of the SX500 even though the manual says SX500. They also give you more tools than you need. Took no more than 20 minutes. I set it to charge overnight, probably close to 20 hours. The next day everyone rode it for well over an hour, and the low battery light didn't even come on yet, but I figured we should get it back on the charger. about 4 hours later the charger light was green again, so they took it out for over an hour again. 100% ridden on wooden trails by new light riders who weren't opening the throttle to 100% very often. It performed great. I did find a loose bolt on the trail that definitely came off the bike, but I've gone over the entire bike and can't see any missing bolts, so maybe it was just stuck somewhere and came loose. I expect these batteries to go bad eventually, as that is the primary complaint, but I'm assuming people aren't charging them regularly or keeping them in the garage during the winter. I'm excited for everyone to learn how to ride and get comfortable before I upgrade the battery and motor and controller with parts from amazon that will get the top speed to 35 mph with 3 different speed modes. Just 6 years ago I've seen videos where a lithium ion 36v replacement battery cost more than the bike... now they are very affordable, even at 48v. Anyways, I couldn't be happier. I'll post again if anything breaks. ... show more

  • Love this bike!
Color: Sx500 - Green
I’m 5’7 170lbs and the bike ran great with me on it. I upgraded to the vevor 2k motor and a 48v battery for some extra torque and ride time. It’s perfect now and I love being able to ride it at any time without having to worry about someone calling the cops because of noise.

  • No warranty without paper copy of warranty card
Color: Sx500 - Green
Update: Replacement quit working after a month and a half. Used under an hour, 2-3 times a week. No accidents, nothing broken, just stopped working and does the clicking thing described in my original post. Original post: It stopped working on the first use after about half an hour. We recharged it overnight, but even on a full charge, it only clicks when the throttle passes each of the two speed levels. I reached out to Razor for a warranty claim, but they won't talk without the warranty number listed on a paper card that shipped with the product and was discarded after assembly. I don't know of any other product that can't be registered online using the serial number, so it went in the trash with the other packaging. Razor will not look up the warranty number using the serial or any other number, and the warranty number is not on the bike; it's only on the paper card. So, there is essentially no warranty without the small paper card. Fortunately, I can and will be exchanging the product through Amazon for the same model. Had this product broken after Amazon's return deadline, I would have no recourse. DON'T LOSE THE PAPER WARRANTY CARD!!! Otherwise, it's a good size for my boys (5 & 8). The 5 year old is one of the taller kids in class, but not the tallest, and he's pretty strong for his age. It's almost too big for him, but he's handling it well and is able to lift it on his own. It's probably exactly right for the 8 year old, and he's about average height. It doesn't go fast enough to frighten either of them (or me watching really), but it's plenty fast enough for them to love it. No faster than they can go on bicycles. However, because it's powered and heavy, they are required to wear a dirt bike helmet, not just a bicycle helmet. It seems well built and sturdy. It has functioning front and rear suspension and disc brakes. And it looks really cool. I've found other reviews and videos about the throttle and/or controller malfunctioning, which appears to cause the exact issue I'm having. From what I can tell, it's a $50 fix if you do it on your own and have the tools. But, I'm pretty shocked that Razor is trying to evade that by requiring a paper card for all warranty claims, using a "warranty number" instead of the serial number, and not printing a number on the bike that could be used to file a claim. I'll definitely hang onto that card when the replacement arrives. ... show more
