  • Razer Ripsaw - Easy Beginner Capture Card (Great for Gaming)
Style: Card
As someone who used the Razer Ripsaw V1 a lot, I noticed a large difference in the models. The V2 has better framerate capture as well as better overall resolution potential (up to 4K). Something to note about getting a Razer Ripsaw vs a BlackMagic Digital Intensity Shuttle is the decoding. The Razer Ripsaw can capture from Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PS4, while the BlackMagic Digital Intensity Shuttle cannot. However, Razer Ripsaw V2 only allows HDMI input, which means if you're attempting to record an older format such as Composite or Component, you will need some sort of adapter. The ports on the front (Mic In, and Headset Out) do not prove to be that useful. However, it is better to have the option than not have the option. The USB-C cable is very high quality and is of medium length such that it could stretch across your desk, but not reach underneath it easily. ... show more

  • happy with my first ever capture card called: Razer Ripshaw HD for building my gaming setup.
Style: Card
The media could not be loaded. Hello there everyone on Amazon. My name is Martell Nelson, and I'm excited to share my experience with my first-ever capture card: the Razer Ripshaw HD. This device is definitely worth the investment at $124+ (taxes and fees) for anyone looking for a high-quality capture card. I'm in the process of getting a Razer Blade 14 laptop to start creating gaming content on YouTube and Twitch, using the Xsplit premium bundle. I chose the Ripshaw HD after watching several YouTube reviews and seeing its ability to capture games at 1080p at 60 FPS with 4K passthrough, making it a future-proof investment when I upgrade to the Razer Blade 14. As a gamer since the Sega Genesis era, it's important to me to have reliable and top-tier equipment. I'm currently capturing footage from my Nintendo Switch, Ayn Odin 2 Max, Ayn Loki Max, and Xbox Series X Halo Infinite Limited Edition. My setup also includes the Razer Seiren V3 Mini, Razer Kiyo Pro webcam, and Razer Barracuda Pro headset, so having a capture card like the Ripshaw HD completes my lineup perfectly. Overall, this capture card has met my expectations and I can't wait to keep using it in my content creation journey. Written on October 12th, 2024. ... show more

  • Simple setup that works with OBS/SLOBS
Style: Card
After my ancient Elgato wouldn't stop misbehaving, I went looking for a hassle-free streaming device so I could send Switch gameplay to Twitch via OBS and SLOBS (I do not want or need proprietary streaming software). Friends suggested the Ripsaw HD, which isn't the cheapest 1080p device on the market, but it was easy to set up. The USB and HDMI cables that come with this are thick and braided -- feels deluxe. The price point makes sense. (Also, check Amazon Warehouse for deals on customer returns!) I do recommend downloading the Razer Synapse software so the Ripsaw HD is properly recognized in Windows. Configuring audio input/output is a bit non-intuitive, but there are instructions on both Razer's site and Streamlabs's site. I plugged in an Astro A40 PC headset (green/pink analog plugs) and a Switch into the Ripsaw, sent the signal into SLOBS, and added a webcam in SLOBS. A very simple signal path and an uncluttered Scene -- it worked great. Looking forward to digging out other HDMI consoles and having a go. ... show more

  • Pretty good!
Style: Card
I've tried out AverMedia and Elgato capture cards, both of which left something to be desired. Specifically, consistency. If I don't unplug or change the settings in any way, I expect the capture or stream to be mostly the same as the last time I used it. This is the only capture card I've tried that does that. It is the only truly plug and play capture card, it's much easier to set up than the others I tried. The only thing I can complain about is that the pass-through doesn't work at all, I tried every combination imaginable and it never passed the picture through. Which is a bit of a bummer but I can still watch the video via OBS with no lag. And as I don't play games with split-second timing requirements, it doesn't bother me that much. I don't use a camera so I can't speak on that at all. In short, finally a mostly easy, reliable capture card! ... show more
