  • GREAT TOOL!
Size: 9517
I was absolutely thrilled with this tool. Despite some complaining it was too heavy I found the weight to be perfect, the weight of the tool applied just the right amount of pressure to the pads. I appreciate the really long cord which allows me to move around the work easily with no need for an extension cord. The front cover can be removed (the shaft lock is there anyway) which gave more clearance when using in tight places. The variable speeds work true and the tool is easy to control. All in all a great buy for the pro and DIY user. ... show more

  • Great little polisher to get in tight areas on my boat
Size: 9517
I recommend this polisher for easy to polish tight areas specially on boats that have rails and gages to maneuver around. Works great for cars headlights

  • Great little Tool for the price! Nice, Long cord and all the accessories are helpful.
Size: 9517
I was pleasantly surprised with this tool. It was not expensive but seems quality so far. It has a slow start feature which was a complete surprise. -helps not sling polish everywhere. Plenty of power for any job and even bigger disc. Only downside being that the body is a little heavy, but it is understandable, i guess. I used this on one car already to buff clearcoat in tight spots, and that is really what it is useful for. ... show more

  • Power !!!
Size: 9517
I’m a fairly experienced home detailer & experienced with a DA polisher. This review is for the 3” & 2” polishing machine. If you go through the pictures some people are reviewing larger machines. I own DAs from Rupes, Griots, & Porter Cable. Rupes invented the larger stroke DA. Their machines are very smooth, high quality, & expensive. I could never justify the cost of their mini polisher - I’ve been using a Porter Cable 5” machine with a smaller backing plate for years. I saw this mini machine kit & it’s was at a great price ($70). I thought I’d try it. One could argue the pads & accessories that come with this kit would cost > $70 alone if this was a boutique brand detailing company. This machine is comparable & very similar to a Rupes LHR 75E. First the accessories… The value compared to boutique detailing companies machine is amazing. Everything you need, minus polish/compound is in the box. They even give you a good quality microfiber towel. The machine feels a bit heavier than expected & solid. The external plastics are the quality of brand name power tools. I dunno how long the cord is - but it’s very long. Probably 2x the length of other machines. That’s a nice feature. The on/off switch is a little weird. First I thought it was broken. It’s just really stiff & a bit awkward - but once you figure out how to use it it’s fine. I put a little dialectric grease on it & that made it a bit smoother. Speed adjustment has no detents. It’s in the back of the machine. The machine feels good in your hands. Does not feel cheap. You get 2” & 3” backing plates & multiple pads. At first I thought the backing plates were a bit wonky because of the shiny rubber on the back - but they are pretty good. They grip the pads very well. If you are cooking pads / backing plate or they are separating you are getting them WAY too hot. I’ve used many over the years & these are of good quality. I put a ton of force down with the machine wide open in these pads & they held up. The foam pads are supposed to be course / fine : blue / white. I can feel no difference between the foam pads other than the color. With the right polish / compound either of the work to remove paint defects just fine. Neither pad is stiff - they both feel like soft polishing pads. However, the wool & polyester (microfiber type) pads that come with this kit cut paint well. The pads are good quality - but you may want to pick up some firm foam cutting pads if you prefer foam like I do. The machine…. My fear when ordering this machine is it wouldn’t have any power. On 5 & 6” larger stroke DAs, copy cat machines often don’t have enough power as a Rupes or Griots. In smaller machines it becomes less critical, because you are spinning smaller pads. It says this machine has a 750 watt motor & that is correct. The 2nd gen Griots machine had a motor in this range & they feel similar in power. That machine is a beast with smaller pads & so is this one. There is tons of power here. The machine easily spins pads well on the lowest setting. If your concerned with power - don’t be. Plenty is here. There is some smart chip of some sort regulating the power, as it takes a second for power changes to kick in. It also feel like the more force you put down on the machine the power kicks up a bit like a Rupes DA. This is called electronic speed control or soft start & is a nice feature I wouldn’t expect at this price point. 12mm is the throw Rupes uses for their comparable machine & it’s the throw this machine uses as well. It’s a good number. The original DAs had an 8mm throw. 12mm corrects paint better without making the machine feel overwhelming while polishing. As throw goes up, it’s harder for any machine to spin pads. Again, there is no issue here. They really spec’ed this machine out with a motor that even exceeds the need of the machine. The comparable Rupes machine has a 400 watt motor & this thing has a 750 watt motor. With Rupes, I always feel their machines could use a bit more power - I do not feel that with this machine - it’s all there. I would actually say this machine is more capable than Rupes due to all the power it has. It also has a back rest, so you can flip the machine over & sit it on a surface without it rolling over. I haven’t tried it yet - but I’m going to say this machine can spin a 5” backing plate & pads well, as the motor is more powerful than bigger 5” & 6” machines. That means get yourself a 5” plate & this is the only polishing machine you need. The 12mm throw is the sweet spot for almost any type of paint correction & any size pad. That makes this machine an even better value at an unbelievable price. The user experience is very good. It’s smooth. It’s not as smooth as a Rupes. Rupes makes all their parts in house in Italy. You can tell a little less refinement & bit more slop is in the power train here compared to Rupes if you are super picky. However, this machine has 2x the power spec of the Rupes at ~ 1/6 the price if you are looking at it as a kit. Let’s compare it to the Griots G8 3” polisher. That machine is 2x the price & is rated at less power. The quality here feels equal to Griots; but the cord is longer. The cord of this machine is of a high quality soft rubber design, same as Rupes/Griots. Griots gives you no accessories for 2x your money. But, the biggest difference is Griots only has an 8mm throw. 12mm is a significant advantage, especially if you want to put on a larger backing plate. You likely won’t always need 12mm with smaller pads - but it’s been proven over & over again a larger throw corrects paint faster & better. I believe Rupes gives you a 1 year warranty & Griots is lifetime. This machine comes with a 2 year warranty. These type of machines rarely have issues that are not cause by the user & based on the price that is an amazing warranty. You could literally buy 5 of these machines for the price of a Rupes. So, let’s call this for what it is. Yes, this machine is a copy of a Rupes LHR75E. Rupes invented & perfected the large throw machine & Griots copied it. So did every other DA manufacturer including Flex. This machine is also a copy. It’s a very very good copy. It’s an improvement actually because of the motor’s insane amount of power. It has good ergonomics & feels like a professional machine. The only possible negative I can try to come up with is the foam cutting pads are very soft & not really suited for compounding. This machine could easily sell for 2x the price with no pads or accessories if you slapped X detailing companies name on it so just disregard that. You’re buying the machine really, pads are consumable & you do get pads that can cut anyway. I would be comfortable buying / reviewing any polishing machine this company makes after using this one. They claim to have been making polishing machines for years. Maybe they manufacture for others & sell under their name or maybe they sell in Asia. Im not sure, but they know what they are doing. This machine exceeded all my expectations. ... show more

  • Great buffer for the price!
Size: 9517
This has been a great buffer so far; I even purchased a second one, so I don't have to change out backing pads so frequently. Light weight and easy to use for some areas. It has a super long cord on it and comes with a lot of pads. I'm just a beginner so this has been nice to learn on.

  • I love this thing.
Size: 9517
I know other users have reported it as being heavy, I disagree. You can easily use it with one hand. Great speed control. It comes with extra internal brushes. I hope I never have to replace them. I would recommend getting some better quality polishing pads when you order this. You only get an assortment of blue and white which are not a great quality. I would recommend this to a friend. ... show more

  • Headlight polisher
Size: 9517
I watched a bunch of videos about 3" polishers for renewing headlights. All of them were way more expensive than I was willing to spend. I decided I didn't need cordless operation as I could work outside my garage. And if I ever need to be more portable, I can run this corded polisher with an inverter plugged into my vehicle. I was able to do a great job on both sets of headlights. It was much faster than doing the job by hand and the quality of the job was superb. It did a great job of sanding (with supplemental sanding pads) leaving no swirl marks and allowing for a quick and easy polish. Is it reliable enough for professional use? I have no idea. But for a homeowner, this was a perfect choice. ... show more

  • So far so good.... SEE UPDATE
Size: 9517
Pros: 2 different sized backing pads, long power cord, ergonmical, powerfull,, dual action orbit. Cons: Replacement trapazoidal polishing pads not readily available (though any style 2 or 3 inch hook and loop polishing pad will work), Electric motor has a ticking sound to it, similar sound to shaking a tin can full of marbles, questionable longevity. ....UPDATE 8/1/24 .... Used this polisher only a handful of times since new and the rattling noise continues to get worse along with the unit getting unusually warm/hot to the touch after only a few minutes of use. My Inquirys to the manufacturer about these issues have yet to yield any response. I would be more than happy to exchange for another unit as it is highly rated by other purchasers but as it stands in my experience with this product and its manufacturer gets a 0 out of 5 stars. Buyer beware ... show more
