  • Great upgrade from the typical plastic "marble race" toys
Style: GraviTrax Building Expansion
My 8-year old used to love playing with an old plastic marble race toy we bought at Toys 'R Us several years before she was born, and when I found Gravitrax it seemed like a logical upgrade to her old favorite. The combinations you can build are nearly infinite, and the extra pieces (sometimes a little gouge-y on the prices, but they don't have any non-branded compatible versions) like the "lifter" and the magnetic launcher really do work as long as you follow the directions. My only complaints about the toy are that the configurations are a little advanced for a smaller child, because you have these hexagonal building tiles, and only certain lengths of ramps which to run between them. Spacing can be a little frustrating for young ones as a result, but as long as you follow some of the build directions (there's a decent, print version included in the starter set), it's easy enough to engineer around. The real thing that absolutely makes this a terrific toy is the app that you can use in conjunction with the physical toy. Not only can you see some of the pre-built suggestions that the manufacturer has provided (a few more than in the printed book with the set), but you can build almost anything in a virtual world *and* run a marble through it to see if it works. My daughter has almost had more fun building them in the app than in reality, but sometimes she'll surprise us and we'll find a huge setup she's built throughout the house. The price may seem high for what you get, but if you include the (free!) app with your assessment of the whole product, it seems like a bargain. ... show more

  • Good way to continually run balls around a circuit
Style: GraviTrax Lifter Expansion
A button press elevates a stack of marbles so another ball is started around the track. This is good for tracks with elements that don’t need to be reset so one can have multiple balls on the track at once. There are 3 stackable elevation tubes so the level of ball elevation is somewhat settable. You can rotate the output but not the input so one can wind up with a button that’s awkward to press. Still it’s a great addition to a set, it works well, is reliable, and there’s not much else that would take the place of this. I’d buy it again. It adds a lot of flexibility to a track setup and doing a button press is certainly more convenient and quicker than placing a marble at the top of a run by hand. ... show more

  • Gravitrax Lifter Expansion Set will add great value to your Gravitrax Set
Style: GraviTrax Lifter Expansion
I set this up to be the launch point for my trax system. The balls go through several switches before returning back to the base of the launcher. This enables me to easily launch several balls into the system at once and watch them scurry around the track configuration. Since all the balls return back to the base, it is easy to relaunch them again (and again). If you put a black riser block and one track piece in before the launcher, you should be able to line up a bunch of balls for the launcher. If you need a merger piece, you can take the green switch off of a switch piece and have two trax merge that way. ... show more

  • Good upgrade,but 🤔🤔🤔😎
Style: GraviTrax Lifter Expansion
The media could not be loaded. good upgrade. But as the video shows, sometimes the track is unstable. The instability is caused by the fact that there are parts of plastic that are very light. One of my remarks is that the base is made of cardboard and the other parts are made of very light plastic, which at times makes the construction unstable. But overall, gravitarax fans are a good addition. But ..... it still matters the quality offered and the price paid. ... show more

This expansion kit is fabulous. It expands what you can do with the basic kit. Great purchase.

  • Fun, but Expensive
Style: GraviTrax Lifter Expansion
Lots of fun but not as customizable as I was hoping for. You pretty much have to stay on the “play” mat that it comes with. Nice quality. Be prepared to buy expansion kits as one kit doesn’t give you much variation in what you can do with it.
