Okay, I made the mistake of being cheap, not once... but twice before this order. I have also confirmed with others who made the same mistakes, pretty much everything under the 30 dollar mark is for a bicycle not a motorcycle. And even so, the ones above the 30 dollar mark that are made for motorcycles are not made for people who ride hard. What I mean by this is if your ride off road, or even just street and come down a little hard from a wheelie you will still probably knock the phone loose on most other mounts. This one actually hold the phone stable under all speeds and conditions I have had so far. I had to mount it a bit uncconventually on my ducati as this is a track bike with very little room to clamp anything, and the clip-ons are already short mounted with no room to connect to the bar itself. So I finagled and used the mounting bracket smaller U bolt around the protruding spring setting screws from the front fork's suspension. Its a little interesting of a connection, but Its holding rock solid and I love how it fits. This was definitely worth the cost, as it may be a bit more then I wanted to spend on a mount, its better to spend 50 up front then 1000 for a replacement phone when your cheap buy drops it on the highway at a buck 30. I will try to post back in sometime and update if it changes, if I don't update its holding fine. ... show more

I wrote a previous review just a few minutes ago and my opinion doesn't change. I still love it! However, first step I'd take when receiving it is to superglue the rubber grips in place. I took my phone off the first time and a grip came off with it and went flying, but I followed it with my eagle-eye bifocals and retrieved it. That won't happen again! :) ... show more

I purchased this to mount my phone on my motorcycle handlebars. I have 1" bars and the rail mount fits well. The double socket arm allows me to position it right where I want it and the X-Grip holds my phone really securely. The first few times I used it, I used the little rubber web thing that comes with it and wraps around the corners of your phone to give extra security against the phone falling out. After a few rides I tried going without that extra piece, just relying on the X-Grip itself and I've never used the extra piece since. The X-Grip holds very securely. I ride a cruiser and the mount sits behind a windshield, but my phone hasn't budged in the X-Grip during any city or highway riding up to 110mph. If you're riding a dirt bike, or a dual sport on rougher terrain, you may want the extra security of the web. My only complaint, which is just a matter of the design, and is just something you have to deal with, is it takes 2 hands to put your phone in and out of this device. One to hold the phone and the other to open the X-Grip. First world problem for sure, but that's the price you pay for such a secure hold. I've since bought several more X-Grips for other vehicles. ... show more

RAM mounts are by far the best out there for motorcycles. I've tried a couple different ones over the years and while none have ever failed and released my phone, the RAM mount is just better. Ease of access. You can pop your phone in and out in a second. It's sturdy. My phone doesn't move around at all from the wind or vibration of my bike. So many options for how to mount it also. You can pretty much mount it in any direction at any angle. My only recommendation is that once you have it where you want it and in the ideal position, remove the thumb screw and use a nut to tighten it down. I know a few people that have had the arm and X portion of the mount stolen right off their bikes because it's just that easy. ... show more

I've had various cell phone mounts on my motorcycles over the years, but not that worked so flawlessly as this one. I have an iPhone 6 Plus, and the thought of that thing bouncing down the highway made me think twice about relying on ANY cell phone mount. However, after reading other people's reviews, I decided to give it a shot. The unit is very easy to operate (mounting / dismounting the phone), and even without the included heavy-duty rubber straps, I feel the phone is locked VERY securely in place. Wow, talk about a phone holder that's good looking, solid, sturdy, rugged, adaptable and easy to reconfigure, this is the baby you've been been looking for over the years. I especially love the ease to change the display angle, pivot and even change from portrait to landscape within 10 seconds! (who are these guys that invent such cool toys) Okay, so it isn't cheap so if all about having something that will "get you by" for a while, then keep looking. This is a well made mount, with one drawback. I purchased and returned the standard mount because it was too small for my iPhone 8 with or, without the Otter Box case. This mount is better but there is one thing I do not like about it. When the phone is in the mount it will rotate about 10 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise. It does not lock solidly in place. I called the manufacturer and was told that it is normal and, that using the stretchy rubber band will help that. I'm going to be optimistically trusting that it will not be a problem when using the phone. Fingers crossed... ... show more
