The media could not be loaded. Used this to mount my iPad mini 6 in a off brand lifeproof type case on my 2022 Kawasaki klr650 works great and was able to hit jumps and dropoffs without it budging at all, much more impressive then I expected for the price.

It works great for a tablet with a ruggedized case like an otterbox or similar. I use this for a custom tablet mount on my adventure motorcycle for larger screens for GPS over the smaller phone screen. It holds pretty tight and I added the rubber sling wrap around to ensure nothing moved. You can tell I modified how it mounts because I wanted two connection points to the bike to mitigate shaking when off road. It all turned out awesome.     • Did not fit Amazon Fire HD 8 Kids (with case)
RAM products are great. I use for all sorts of devices and mounts. Checking the RAM website, the Fire HD 8 with case should fit. However, the FIRE HD8 Kids does not fit. The case is too large for the end cups. I returned and bought a setup with the end cups for a 10 inch ipad pro that fits the FIRE HD 8 Kids case. Solid product. Tough plastics. Requires some assembly with screw and a separate ball plate needs to be purchased as this is just the backplate and end cups. ... show more

I own another version of this for the google nexus 7, so I wanted one for my ipad mini as well in case i want to swap them out. This fits my mini with the lifeproof case, both with and without the flap accessory. Compatible with all ram ball mounts, and holds tight. Yes, assembly is a pain in the rear, but follow the same instructions others have posted and you can do it well. ... show more

    • Hard to beat RAM quality.
Got this for a vehicle mounted 8" tablet. Had to glue small spacers in the corners to get a perfect fit. Rock solid when moving over rough terrain or unimproved roads. Getting tab in and out is simple. Spring tension is just right. Very happy. Would buy again.

I tried other off-brand varieties to mount my iPad mini 5 and this is the only one that truly feels sturdy and reliable. Very happy with the ease of use. Assembly wasn't difficult, but would be better if it came ready to go out of the box.

    • Awesome mount!
First off, for those that are having trouble assembling this, try using a #1 Phillips screwdriver. That's the correct size for the screws. Start by installing the 5 screws per side at about 1 to 1-1/2 turns. Then clip the end cap in and tighten the center screw first. This will keep it from moving around while you tighten the rest. Use a #1 Phillips screwdriver and not a drill!! This is another great product from RAM! The only downside I see with this particular mount is that it blocks my rear camera when the iPad mini is in place. They of course do offer other mounts that would fix that but I chose this one because RAM will sell new end caps to be able to use it with a full size iPad or iPad Air later if I choose to. ... show more

    • Easy to put in devices
The only complaint is the using of pinger print on power button and volume buttons hard so difficult to use. But easy work around. hold my iPad mini and one handed r&r. Use it in my semi truck bouncing down the roads.
