I buy this Polo Red deodorant stick for my teen. It’s the best deodorant we’ve found for him. The scent smells good and is compatible with his body chemistry and the Polo Red body spray he uses. It seems to do more than just cover up BO as I haven’t noticed any BO on my son even in very high heat weather. This is a clear stick so he doesn’t have an issue of white flecks falling off or getting white residue on his clothing like he had with the white stick deodorant stick he used before Polo Red. This deodorant doesn’t have alcohol and I don’t see aluminum listed as an ingredient, though it has other chemicals like fragrance and sodium hydroxide (a caustic ingredient that gets a 3-4 rating by EWG). However, natural deodorants haven’t worked for my teen, so I don’t see a way to avoid them. So I’m only taking off 1/2 star for chemicals because Polo Red doesn’t claim to be natural, and it’s the only deodorant my teen will use as it’s effective, invisible and smells good.     • BEST of the Polo color-scented deodorants!
Of all the various Polo scents- Black, Double Black, Blue, etc- I found Red to be the best of them all. While I wear all the others I like this one for its "sports" style crisp scent that screams high class at the same time. It's also a clear deodorant so there will be no mess after the fact. I don't know what other reviewers are talking about, the deodorant wearing off after only 5 minutes... The crispness of the scent may not be there after 5 minutes but it's deodorant not the cologne itself. Wear them both for maximum effect, buy the gift box to acquire both. If you're like me you're buying this because you wear deodorant to work and the gym more than high priced cologne everyday. ... show more

This will sound like an odd critique. The stick doesn't seem to erode. I've used this daily for about 45 days and it has not diminished in weight appreciably. A few days after purchase I scored the surface of the stick with a knife so I could see how fast the product eroded. That scoring is still there after more than a month of use. I wondered if there was a plastic covering on the top of the stick but that does not appear to be the case. I have to wonder how much aroma value is being dispensed with each application. The scent seems to fade within an hour. I've been wearing Polo since the 80's and won't stop soon - this just seems like an odd dispensing issue, I won't be buying this version again. ... show more

My favorite scent. I can't say the deodorant is high quality, but I think it is worth. I also think the packaging isn't great. I have had a couple break (the elevating mechanism) which is quite unfortunate and sort of a pain.

    • Polo red is better than blue
I think it has a more sophisticated scent than polo blue which is too typical of any body wash

When I received the deodorant, it came already damaged at the bottom of the packaging. It has 2 cracks in it but other than that it smells great.
