This rake has good aesthetic, durable and seems tough. The handle has good feel when hold it, comfortable. The core handle and the tines are made of strong metal material, very sturdy. However, the head is only 9 inch wide which makes it less ideal for collecting large amount of leaves. On other side, you can use it to collect small pockets of leaves or cleaning vegetable garden or reaching out to the small tree tops with its long handle. BEST THING ABOUT IT: sturdy build WORST THING ABOUT IT: nothing not to like Other LIKES: adjustable length, narrow tines, appearance Other DISLIKES: none Comments (Function, Appearance, Quality): I got this because we have border collies that shed all year round. A lot of the shedded hair gets blown into the various corners of our deck and we have to pick it up somehow. Brooms are less effective since the hair often sticks to the bristles and further spreads. Forget about blowing the deck off before dealing with the hair - hair goes everywhere. This narrow rake is perfect for raking it all into one place to easily dispose of it using a dust pan. The unappealing (apologies) pictures posted demonstrate to what I am referring. Fall also brings leaves on the deck and in our flower beds. This is so handy (thanks to its reach and the small width of the tine portion) to get around and in between the plants to get the leaves out of the beds. We originally purchased a kids rake from a toy section for this, but the unit was only 3 ft long and very cheaply made. It was almost half the price of this one, but this one is at least 10 times better than the toy. I am really impressed with this rake. It is very versatile, extremely functional, well made and attractive. It arrives unassembled with 4 sections that can be screwed together in combinations to make the rake 32, 46, 60, or 74” long. This really helps get into the recesses of the flower beds without having to trample through them as much. Most suitable for: raking leaves in flower beds (or raking dog hair) Is it worth it?: At $17, absolutely. This is not a toy. *Precise rating: 5 (I have nothing but good things to say about this product) Recommendation: Highly recommend. The whole rake assembled is over 6 feet long. The rake head is very well built. It’s about 9 inches wide and 7 inches long. The multi-section handle is very substantial metal. The handle sections screw together easily. The sections do tend to loosen up as I had to re-tighten the sections from time to time as I was using it. I think the handle is so long, it’s a little heavy when you’re reaching back under the shrubs to get at leaves on the ground. For those two reasons, I give it 3 stars. ... show more

I was skeptical that the screw together handle was a good idea but it is very sturdy. Once assembled there is no wobble or loose joins, feels just like a solid handle. The only con is that it is slightly bent but it is only noticeable if you roll it on a flat surface, not when you are using it. The rake itself is a great size for getting under shrubs, furniture or any tight space. You definitely will not want to rake a lawn with it but for working in flower beds and similar places it is excellent. I got the 6' version and it is much longer than that because just the handle itself is 6', total length is 79" (just as they claim), I found it was more comfortable with one section removed which I assume makes it the equivalent of the 5' handle. Nice to have the option but if you are shorter you probably only need the 5' version. Overall a good addition to the yard tool collection! ... show more
