Spot free without towling off? If it sounds too good to be true, it is. Followed directions carefully and still had to re-wash and dry it. The claim that it does not leave spots, at least here where the water is vary hard, is nonsense. Contacted them to see if there was an issue. Their reply? This product may not work as intended if you have a recently waxed finish or other protective coating on the vehicle. It will not harm the coating, but it will not be “spot free”. Had the worst possible results for something as simple as soap, very disgusted with the results. Have a dark blue metallic finish on my Camry, the spot free made a mess out of my car with nothing but spots wherever it touches the paint surface and windows. It got one star because it did suds up OK. Worst product I have ever used on any vehicle.. A waste of money and I now have to get this crap off of my car. Rain X spot "FREE" SUCKS ... show more

I have washed my SUV with this car wash soap a few times now. Its very interesting to say the least. I wash my car, rinse, and attempt to dry with a shammy, but my car dries spotless before I can dry it with the shammy. If you want an easier time drying your car I would say try this! This is soap and yes it works. But, it's too thin. This means it's easy to put too much in, and what you put in doesn't seem to do the job compared to other soaps I've used. It says you can put in 1oz per gal. They don't give you any way to measure it (unlike others that tell you relative to a capful) When I put in what I think is that amount, it doesn't foam up as much as other products. Unfortunately, this product leaves a lot of residue and water spots. I use soft water to wash my cars, but if you don’t wipe your car off when you use this product, it will look pretty bad.

This is the real deal. Have always been looking for something to reduce the water spots on my bike after washing. My well water is so hard you need a chisel to get it out of the faucet. I would have to immediately towel dry parts of the bike as I would wash it to avoid the spots and then detail it with a polish. I finally tried this wash this weekend. Worked fantastically. After allowing the bike to air dry the only place I could see a few tiny spots were on the wind screen with the sun shining through it. I've always been a big fan of other Rain-X products. This shouldn't have surprised me. Highly recommend. A couple of ounces in about 3 or 4 gallons of water sudsed up nicely. Seems pretty gentle. Left some of the dried bug debris. Really had high hopes for this product because their wiper blades and glass products work great. Alas, my black Mustang did not turn out as promised. Followed the instructions to the letter but when all was said and done spots and streaks everywhere. I do not have hard water so that can't be the problem. Unfortunately I waited too long to return it for a refund. Back to drying by hand! Update: I wrote Rainx and received pretty much the same response as others regarding wax on the car. But that excuse really makes no sense. My mirror, windows and even my headlights had spots and streaks. Lots of long-lasting suds. It's not a "towel-free" product as they claim, but it does cut down on the towel drying. You'll need to use a towel or at least a squeegee with the windows or you will see some film left on them. Good product though. I will use it regularly from now on.
