Style: Medium Clay Bar Kit
My car care experience started in the Rain Dance/Simoniz era of the 70s, where all you knew was hours of hard labor. Wax on wax off, rub rub rub, get another towel, check it again oh crud there's still more wax to remove, you know the drill. Fast forward to the modern era... I ventured into using clay bars about a decade ago, a spray detailer/clay bar kit from Mothers impulse buy at Walmart. I repurchased the same product a couple of times and though was happy with it I felt it was time to try something new. The reviews on this product were enough to tip me away from Mothers and the results are tremendously different. Application and usage is generally the same with all of these products. Mist an area, rub with light pressure back and forth. Microfiber towel dry. Smash the bar and flatten. Repeat. I could tell a *noticeable* difference in the feel of the car surface but I wasn't sure it was real or my imagination. I was planning to wax both cars so I did a quick test. I had some Mothers left over so I used that on the hood of one car and Chemical Guys on the other. Sure as heck it was different! The CG application felt smoother and more glossy. I did another test gently gliding a clean and dry microfiber towel across both surfaces. The Mothers surface glide did ok but had some resistance. The CG surface glide resulted in the towel sliding right off the hood and onto the floor! I'm sold! I use Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Spray Wax 2.0. I know... it's not ceramic but for me it's easy without the PTSD memories of the 70s. Just wipe a very thin layer on and let 'er dry. It worked great over the top of the CG clay bar application. Easy on and easy off. The results are amazing. Both cars just sparkle! The best part was that I did both cars (Outback and Forester) in about 4 hours, and most of that time was waiting for the wax to dry. And I'm not wiped out! With less labor and a reasonable time commitment, I find that I wax the cars more than once a year. Anyway... thanks for reading my review this far. I've never used a clay bar before, but this was really easy to use!! Just time consuming, so make sure you have the time to do it right. Also, I should have used gloves because my hands turned blue from the bottle I was holding the whole time. Brought my 21-year-old Mustang back to looking brand new!!! I have been doing a bunch of carbon fiber up grades to my car. At the end of every layup, I sprayed clear coat on each finished piece. I pulled my car out of the garage, but somehow my car got covered in overspray. I tried to polish it out, but to no avail! I was beside my self and thought I had ruined the car's paint job. I found this product and was extremely skeptical that it was just another gimmick. I could not be more wrong!! I used the clay bar as per instructions and it removed every bit of overspray and left the car's paint as smooth as silk. What a cheep fix to an expensive mess up! The clay bar is great. My experience with Chemical Guy's products is great (BIG FAN of Diablo wheel cleaner and Inner Clean interior cleaner) but the Clay Lube is the first product I've used from them that I was not pleased with. Don't get me wrong. It did what it was supposed to do... acted as a clay bar lubricant, but it dyed my hand blue. 3 washes and my finger tips are still blue. I had about half a bottle left and dumped it. I've never had a problem with Meguiar's or Adam's Detail Sprays as clay bar lubricants so will go back to those or use diluted ONR or Wolfgang Concours moving forward. ... show more

I found the clay bar to be overly sticky and hard to detach from a ziplock that I initially placed it. It was also a bit too sticky to my hand compared to another product that I tried. Either way it did the job. The application sponge, cloth, liquid, and wax were all great and provided good results. I have not tried the soap yet. ... show more

I bought a 2022 Chevy Silverado and discovered after I got it home from the dealership that there was quite a bit of what appeared to be white spray paint overspray on the passenger side door panels extending back to rear quarter panel. This product took it right off! Amazing! It is very labor intensive but absolutely works! You can "hear" when all the particles have been lifted off the paint. Used about 3/5 of the bottle for one vehicle and there were many many things that came out of my paint so I probably wont' use the bar again but will definitely purchase again for my other vehicles. ... show more
