  • It's work, but sooooo much easier than irons
This is a high quality piece of equipment that takes some work but if you've changed tires before with irons you're going to love it. I think there's three distinct groups of people that might buy this, so here's a review for each. Are you a tire iron user? Tire on the floor, or maybe a stand, bead breaker in hand, and maybe a couple irons to prod and pry? Oh my, this is for you. Get it today. I cannot express how much better this is. Do you normally take your wheels off and bring them to a mechanic to mount and balance new tires to save a few bucks? Get this! It's going to be more work than you might think, but it's easy enough to swap tires that you should just do it at home. You're going to need a balancer too. Do you just drive to a shop and they do all the work? Well, you might want to try pulling wheels off the bike and make sure you're comfortable with that before you invest in stands, jacks, this thing, and a balancer to do it at home. It's an investment. This thing works incredibly well. It's light enough and disassembly is easy enough that it can be stored easily. Consequently, you do have to be careful to use it exactly as stated in the instructions. It's light in weight and your applying a LOT of torque. Applied as stated in the instructions it works. Apply that torque differently and things are going to move in ways they shouldn't. That said, if you are using irons now, buy this and you'll seriously give it a hug every time you put it away. It really is that much better! ... show more

  • The struggle is over
Changing the tire took half as long as the unboxing and set up. This tool is the bread slicing machine of personal use tire machines. A bit pricey but checks all the other boxes in the ten range. performance ,quality, size, ease of assembly and use. Built well should last me for years hard to rate durability I’ve only changed one tire still looks new but stores well in provided bag ready to go at a moments notice. I give it two thumbs Up! ... show more

  • Wish I had bought this years ago!
I can't say enough good things about this piece of equipment. It's well built, well thought out, and just plain works great. I've replaced two sets of tires with it already and it did amazingly! It took me longer to remove the old wheel weights/adhesive and clean up the wheels than it did to mount the new tires. After reading some of the negative reviews I'm reminded that not everyone should be doing their own work and some people can find a problem for every solution. I didn't experience any issues with the tire changer trying to tip over. You have to stand behind it while ratcheting the mechanism in a downward motion to mount or dismount a tire. Breaking the bead free was not an issue, the trick is you have to make sure the arm is adjusted correctly for your wheel/tire. The bead grease and brush are great for mounting tires, I used dish soap and water in a spray bottle to dismount the old tires so I didn't "contaminate" the bead grease/brush on the dirty old tire/rim. The manual is great not only in content but the material it's made out of is a lamination of some kind so it'll stand up to shop use. Packaging was some of the best I've seen for anything I've ever ordered. All the hardware is top notch and easy to assemble. There's plenty of YouTube videos out there that demonstrate how to operate this equipment properly as well. ... show more

  • Got the job done
Honda gl1800 rear tire. So stiff I could stand on it off the rim and it wouldn’t bend. Took two tries, but I got it on. I should have tried all the spacers before my first attempt. Thought I had the right one but the tire kept moving too much. I have changed about 20 tires and this tire was the hardest. Take your time and don’t be afraid to try another day. It works! I did bend the tire hold rod hole a bit, but I think it will still work. I’m very happy that I gave in and bought it! ... show more

  • BUY THIS RABACONCA TIRE CHANGER $720. "LIFE CHANGER" (not a tire changer)
BUY THIS RABACONCA TIRE CHANGER $720. "LIFE CHANGER" (not a tire changer) - JUST BUY IT - If you've done tires on the floor with "spoons" as I have... and if you've grunted and sweated and busted up knuckles, as I have every single time....then BUY IT. I will keep it until I die. Expensive? yeah! but local shops want $100 per..then I have to travel to and drop off then back home then REPEAT to pick-up wheel.. FYI.. I have OUTEX tubeless conversion ... I had to pull tire off because I rushed my install on the tubeless spoke sealer band and created a bubble (all my fault).. I was able to Dis-MOUNT front 21" tire..surgically cut out the failed OUTEX rim sealer job I messed up and Re-MOUNT the tire (..all while Re-scooping the Ride-On Tire Sealant balancer I just installed to be Re-Used again..not joking that stuff is $22 per 8oz)...anyway... did all this within 2 hours..and wheel back on bike before dinner. So $730 all in for the Rabaconda... and I've done the Rear 1 time (Dis-MOUNT/Re-Mount New Tire) and the Front tire on my Africa twin 21" 18" TrailMAX MISSIONs for a TOTAL of 3 FULL TIRE Changes... So...that's $300 if I went to local shop and a LOT OF TIME...I don't write reviews. PERIOD. I had to on this Rabaconda because I've been considering it for 10 months since I saw a review on YT. seriously ...buy it... ALSO.. YOU WILL HAVE MORE "FRIENDS" if they know you have it...($20 pop will help pay for it) make them clean wheel first..this tool changed my life making tire changes insanely easy.. I have street tires to ride in City METRO that I can now swap to after riding BDRs in summer season... AND when I have truck/trailer at basecamp I can swap to half-eaten tires and finish burning them up to get FULL use of tire. AGAIN. IT HURTs.. BUT BUY THIS TIRE CHANGER. ***EDIT TO ADD *** HINT Use the tire lube stuff they sell..be generous hit the "DUCK" flange on the tool crank arm..ALSO lube the rim edge...ALSO lube the tire edges (ALL on both sides edges Left and Right) ...ALSO you are 'On-The-Clock' so work quickly LUBE dries and gets 'sticky' as per designed to stick to rim...working within 10-minutes to I can Set-The-Bead before the lube dries) ... BE SURE TO SET TIRE IN DROP CENTER and my TrailMAX MISSIONs set on rim in less than 20seconds...Forget the bad reviews here..they DO-NOT-KNOW_WHAT-THEY-ARE-DOING. ...I did my 3rd cycle dis-mount/re-mount BOTH in under 90-seconds...watch reviews on YT...Work Quickly...I am using a $39 hand-held air pump and STTING THE BEAD on these trailMAX MISSIONs! and these tires are STIFF. nuff said. ... show more
