  • Is the R-One THE One For You?
Color: Design 2
Power: This is definitely a "poppy" paddle, meaning that the ball rebounds off of the surface crisply, with very low dwell time. This is a huge performance benefit, as you can generate the pace you need using shorter swings and gestures, allowing you to be a lot more reflexive with your game, instead of trying to swing out of your shoes every time. Control: This is not the classic "controlled" response where the paddle flexes more, and cradles the ball for a long time. Instead, control comes from the highly engineered, extremely aggressive grippy surface, which you will find engages the ball more, the harder you hit. Expect to hit confident topspin drives with this. In addition, the 16mm thickness helps to extend the sweet spot. Ease of Use: This paddle is extremely maneuverable for aember of the 8oz class. There is definitely room to add lead tape to this paddle, but I think the light and crisp playing characteristics of this paddle are perfectly balanced. Sound: This paddle sounds typical for a polymer core paddle with a carbon fiber surface. It's not particularly quiet or loud for a typical pickleball paddle. Quality and Appearance: This paddle will fit right in with the latest generation high end paddles. It plays with a genuine T700 raw carbon feel, has a super aggressive grit that you can see and feel. The grip is substantial and octagonal, although like with many pickleball paddles, the paddle face and edge side bevels of the grip dominate, making the shape more rectangular. I'm terms of durability, so far there are no concerns, with no rattling, signs of delamination, or surface degradation so far. Overall, this is an extremely competitive paddle at its price point, with no-nonsense performance features, and what seems to be reliable build quality. ... show more

  • Fair priced paddle suitable for professional play
Color: Design 2
I am a competitive player that has used the nicol p-one 2022 edition for the past few months (switched from a joola) and decided to try this paddle as I really like the brand. It’s a bit elongated in shape, with a less curved frame but more surface area. Also the grip is a bit shorter. Besides the obvious sleek design and packaging, here are some honest points about this paddle in three parts: control, power and feel. Control: this paddle has ample control. It’s pretty balanced and thick, so you’ll find that guiding the ball the way u want it both up at the net and during groundstrokes is easy and comfortable. Good for dinks too. 9/10 Power: thus paddle packs a bit more of a punch than the p-one, which helps during those college exchanges and finishing points. I’d still love to see this brand make a thinner paddle for a bit more pop. 8/10 Feel: this paddle has great feel. Biggest pro if this paddle for sure. U really feel connected to the ball, and can dictate spins/ touch plays as well as feeling through groundstrokes and overheads- all while avoiding vibration/ absorbing shock. 10/10 Overall, give this paddle a go if you are looking for a functional, more affordable solid paddle. Doesn’t hurt that it looks nice either! ... show more

  • JUST WHAT MY GAME NEEDED
Color: Design 1
My Husband and I recently started playing pickle ball around two months ago or so. We went and bought our first paddles at a big box store for around 30$ (for the pair) - one I’m sure most people are familiar with. We played with those paddles daily if not every other day since then and have had a blast learning the game and falling in love with the sport. The first day we went to the court after purchasing these Nicol paddles we finally understood what it meant to up our game lol we almost instantly seen huge improvements in almost every area of our game. Our swings are better, our form is more consistent as well as our our shot placement. I always thought it was the player that made the difference in their own game play and in some instances that is true but there is a such thing as gear advantage and that’s what we feel we have now that we are on the courts with these paddles. I don’t usually write too many reviews but do yourself a favor and your game. A+ we will be buying two more for our boys. ... show more

  • Here's a paddle for Tennis/Ping Pong players
Color: Design 2
New paddle by Nicol using Carbon fiber T700! My background: Pretty avid badminton and pickleball player. Also come from playing a ton of Table tennis and tennis recreationally. I'm primarily an indoor PB guy Thoughts: If you had told me this was under $100 I wouldn't have believed you. The T700 carbon fiber seems to give a better feel and response for the ball. I feel like I have greater, intuitive control over the spin and power. The only con maybe is that it feels slightly more drag in the air in comparison to the Voyager Pro, but hits feel solid and i can do shorter dinks Comparison to P-one by Nicol Paddle is noticeably thicker and the texture is a higher grit. but still surprisingly light at 8 oz per specs. Handle is about right amount of tackiness (i personally wear a glove and use verytacky overgrip) In comparison to my voyager pro ($120) by niupopo... I feel more control with the R-one but a similar range of power as the voyager pro The spin level of the R-one is more to my liking and complements the control curve well, at least to my taste as a spin type of player. I'll actually be switching to this paddle over my Voyager Pro. It suits my style quite well. ... show more

  • This is the one!
Color: Design 1
After “test driving” paddles for several months, I have found the one! The paddle's weight is perfectly balanced, striking a great balance between power and maneuverability. It feels light in my hand, allowing for quick reactions and swift movements on the court. The paddle's design also contributes to its performance, with a wide sweet spot that enhances accuracy and consistency in my shots. It provides excellent control, allowing me to place shots precisely where I want them. The power generated by this paddle is remarkable, enabling me to hit powerful smashes and deep shots effortlessly. It has truly elevated my game to a whole new level. There is nothing that I don’t like about this paddle. ... show more
