Description

If you have ever been frustrated by the inadequate clamp opening and clumsiness of most drill press clamps, here is your answer. The post quickly mounts to most drill press tables with slots or holes, a bolt passes through the table and is secured with a large ring nut. To adjust the height for up to 5" of capacity, simply depress the clutch (similar to a pipe clamp) and slide the clamp head to the desired setting. This is solidly made, easy to use, and seems quite functional. I haven't found any flaws here yet after using it on two small jobs. I'm using it on my drill press as is (with the addition of a wider fender washer underneath) but it seems from the design that it could be easily modified to accommodate other ways of attaching it to various worktable surfaces. Also, the hold-down rubber foot is on a standard 1/4-20 shaft that unscrews from the clamping lever mechanism, so other shapes of hold-downs could be easily swapped in. I can't say enough about this clamp. I use it on the table of my drill press. It is easily-adjustable and clamps very tightly. Once ordered it takes a long time to get it, but, in my opinion, it's worth the wait. The quality is excellent.

Nice product. Works as advertised. Well finished, operates smoothly and holds tightly yet easily released. Anyone that's hand held a piece for drilling, had the bit bite, jamb, then spin the piece out or your grip... yikes! So, before I lost a finger, bought this hold down and no more worries!

    • Doesn’t hold work pieces fast
Ok, what’s the secret here? Is there something I can tighten to make this clamp hold piece properly? As is, I slide the clamp firmly down and in place, I toggle the switch all the way, and then it barely takes a bump for the clamp to wiggle loose. So far, I’m feeling like this was a real waste of money. ... show more

    • Just what the wood doctor ordered.
I used these the same day they arrived. Worked like a charm. I took one star off because of the small parts that I don’t think are needed and hindered installing it to the drill press table. In the end I ditched the small spacer and one of the washers could have been excluded if the bottom nut was they type that has a flange. That might be picky but there it is. I would recommend these as an extra set of hands and for thicker pieces of wood. ... show more

    • Smaller footprint, faster setup, holds well
It has a smaller footprint than plier type hand-vices. It's faster to adjust and reposition if necessary, holds down items well. For drill press applications, as it has a vertical post, it works well when the item to hold down have at least 8 inches in length, otherwise it may interfere with the drill press. This is a really good tool. It saves a lot of time by not having to try to try and make a 'c' clamp or other type of clamp on the drill press table. I also got the large rubber foot pad accessory which is also a great help. I would recommend this to friends and family. Very happy.
