    • OK but some drawbacks!
The drill functions with speed control and three position belt drive are excellent. I am using medium belt position with about 5000rmp for small drilling and light milling in wood, plastic and aluminum. The speed control allows me to speed-up or slow things down for some operations. There is no runout and once clamped in position drilling is very accurate. However, the machine has some serious problems. There are no provisions in the base to mount the drill to a work bench. I have a large drill press, so I drilled 4 counter sunk holes in the base and mounted with 1/4" flatheaded bolts. The handle that clamps the drill to the support column is steel on aluminum, so it binds and takes lots of effort to tighten or loosen. I use a steel flat washer and oil between the handle bolt and housing, then made a 6" extension for the handle. Now I can hold the drill position with one hand and a couple of fingers on the other hand to secure drill position. Be aware there is no chuck column lock, like most drill presses, so setting depth for milling is complicated and time consuming.. ... show more

It's a handy little.thing for what I am using it for. It's definitely not intended for drilling steel. It binds and bogs often for that but for wood or in my case PVC it seems to work fine. Make sure you tighten all the bolts well. The foot plate fell of whole moving it and nearly crushed my toe, but that was operator error. ... show more

    • Drill chuck fell off
While using for the first time , the drill chuck came loose and began wobbling until it fell off and took a chunk out of the item I was drilling (hand guard on an mp5 22 , to add a rail system) . I checked to see if it had a retaining screw that came loose or anything to put it back in place and figured out it was just pressed in ( poorly ) and I could not get it back on far enough to stay in place . Would've been better to use my hand held drill . Very disappointing ... show more

Literally built so cheap you can’t screw the handle on. Tried for an hour to screw the down lever handle on and rethread it and re-tap it. Just horribly made. Just had to give up and walk away

Wire inside the motor burnt and was sparking. This is only after a couple times use since I bought it.
