This gel is amazing. Buy this product now. We had a barbq fire, AKA grease fire, at my propane grill that was on the patio up against our white brick exterior wall. It burned for 10+ minutes, even with the gas off, just because of the accumulated grease. This resulted in huge black soot stains on the bricks. I SCRUBBED once already with Simple Green, with only mild improvement for the labor I put in to it. Then used Quick N Brite gel and a stiff plastic scrub brush similar to what's shown here. Yes, more "elbow grease for sure. Left it on 15 minutes, and wa-la.... brand new bricks again. Wish I had taken before and after pixs and thought to use this product for the first scrub instead. My niece bought a house that a smoker previously lived in. Wanted to remove the smell and stains from her gas fireplace. Scrubbed my butt off, and honestly it didn't really do much. I found the scrub brush to be difficult to use--small, and the gel just slide down it / did not really stick to the bristles. I applied it straight to the brick but it ran down into the crevices more than anything. Will use a better brush I have from Target when I scrub it again. Perhaps if your mess isn't as bad as ours was/is, it will work better for you. Love that it is non-toxic (her dog started licking it while I was cleaning) and there is little to no smell. ... show more

This product apparently works for some others on fireplace soot. But I just wanted to clean and brighten my bluestone fireplace hearth. It worked about as well as it I had applied water alone. I’m very disappointed in this product. I also find it to be a bit concerning that it does not list its ingredients and instead says to learn about its ingredients you will need to contact them directly. That seems a bit sketchy to me. I think I will stick with good old-fashioned, white vinegar and baking soda to clean my natural stone. This was a total waste of my money and my time. ... show more

So full disclosure, I’m going to whitewash the fireplace tomorrow so I didn’t scrub super hard. I left this on just enough to put the cleaner on with the brush over the full fireplace and then I started at the beginning to wipe it off. I found a sponge was easier to wipe it off. And I also put down the plastic tarp that came with the whitewash kit. And I was glad since the brush sort of sprays it everywhere. Our fireplace hasn’t been used in years and it was the headboard for the bed in that room when we bought the house a year ago. This was the family room in the 70’s. No clue when that room was converted to the main suite. Basically I’m not sure when it was cleaned last but it didn’t seem super dirty. Where you see how well this product works is right above the boarded up hearth. Again, I barely scrubbed and it was left on there for maybe 15 minutes. I used the brick cleaner to clean the bed. I already cleaned the walls with a mix of vinagre, soap and water. The bed area was very dirty and the fireplace insert was seating right on it (it protruded from the wall). The water mixture helped but I needed something a bit stronger but not sting enough to create fumes and destroy the brick. This product removed a lot of dirt. You can see on the 2nd picture that I still have stains. I don’t think I can remove them without destroying the brick. I’m happy with the results. The product was nice to work with, no unpleasant odors. Actually, I didn’t smell anything. My fireplace with the new insert looks nice, very farmhouse style (not the style of the room lol). It looks used without being dirty. I’m happy with the cleaner. It did a good job. I use a blue scotch pad to clean the brick. I haven’t used the glass cleaner yet. ... show more
