I wanted a cowboy hat to wear while horse back riding for sun protection but didn't want to spend $ 100-$150. And I'm too busy to go into a western wear store and look for a hat. So I took a gamble and ordered this one, hoping it'd fit and look decent. It does. It's very cute on. The sizing is weird though. I wear a size 7 hat, which is generally considered a medium. But I got the large/extra large and that fits perfectly. If I'd gone for a small/medium, it would have been too tight. If you are looking for a straw cowboy hat and you're on a budget, this is a great option. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the price dropped by 37% right after I ordered it and Amazon wouldn't give me a credit for the difference. Hat came and the rear of brim was bent. I boiled a pot of water, used the steam to warm it up and formed it so it's normal and fixed. Has a plastic smell to it when I opened and was stronger while steaming. I question it being straw, more plastic feeling. I can get an Ariat straw for $40 but not in black so wanted to try this one. I wear a 7 1/4 and the large fits well. It's an elastic band. So over all, don't expect a high quality hat, but it's fine for the money ---- steam will fix the creases, be patient ... show more

Love the fit and look of this hat. Needed something to protect my head, neck, and ears while at work. Recently had skin cancer removed from my scalp and this is perfect for protecting my scalp and preventing further damage. Love the band on the inside. Ordered the s/m and fits me perfectly. I get so many compliments while wearing this hat. I did change out the exterior band as we can only have a plain band while at work. No biggie.
