  • Good first time charger
Model: 40A
Wish I had higher ampere in outlet. takes a full 9 hours to charge from 20%. Manual is a joke doesn't help at all.

  • Excellent simple plug and play
Model: 40A
Previously I ordered a charger made by another company that even after 5 days of exchange of emails with the manufacturer didn't work. This charger was cheaper than the one I had to return and very simple to operate. It has only one switch which functions as on/off and also a selector for amperage and delay time (number of hours from turning on to when charging will be starting). I agree with the reviewer who characterized the "manual" as a job, but really the charger is so simple to operate that the manual is not necessary. Overall it functions exactly as expected. ... show more

  • Variable charge rates allows adjustments for inverter generator.
Model: 40A
The media could not be loaded. $190 with the $80 discount. Variable amps allows adjusting to generator size. The Ford Mobile charger is fixed at 32 amps and that was too much for generator. Very happy. Going on a 2600 mile drive with locations without EV charging.

  • Disappointing Charging Performance and Build Quality
I recently purchased this charging station with high hopes, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. Cons: - Despite the advertised claims, this charger was not delivering the promised 50 amps. Instead, it only charged at 9kWh, which is a significant letdown. - The build quality of the product left much to be desired. It felt flimsy and cheap, which raised concerns about its durability and long-term reliability. Pros: - On a positive note, the charging cables were impressively long and appeared to be heavy-duty, providing some reassurance in an otherwise disappointing purchase. In summary, I was left disappointed by this charging station. It didn't deliver the charging capacity it promised, and the cheap build quality raised concerns about its longevity. The only redeeming quality was the long and robust cables, but they couldn't make up for the overall shortcomings of this product. ... show more

  • No technical service information or product support
Charger tripped GFCI 50 amp circuit breaker after approximately forty -five minutes of 50 amp charging. Charger case and cord were warm, not hot. Reset circuit breaker and attempted to restart charging process. Charger would no longer respond to any button commands. Could not change charge amperage; would always revert to 16 amp, and not output even at that setting. I’ve been unable to find information on how to obtain technical support. Amazon has no contact information for the seller/manufacturer of the charger. The User’s Manual is useless. There is one name Dunen on page #07. A Google search provides no pertinent information on Dunen. I’ve read a vast majority of positive reports regarding this charger. Those reports plus the purchase price and 50 amp variable charging ability were the primary reasons for buying this charger. The only response from Amazon is to return for refund. I’d like to have it work! I have no idea how can owner would be able to request warranty information. ... show more

  • Not That Versatile. A Tad Disappointed. Smaller in Size. Heavy Duty. Level 2 only.
My experience I’m looking for the holy grail of chargers, this is a worthy candidate, but it’s not it. Which is okay. Because my requirements may not be the reader’s. Features: This is 240v charger that can be dialed-in to “draw” juice at 16 to 40 amps, not more, not less. What does that mean? It “cannot” charge using your standard 120-volt plug, which is absolutely the most basic and most common plug in the United States. This has the standard J1772 car plug in. This charger is durable and claimed to be UL listed. However, I saw no such certification on the actual charging unit, just the molded plug, so, to me, that’s not as represented. My other chargers . As noted, above, this charger can be dialed-up to juice up at to juice at 16 to 40 amps. This is an exclusive level 2 charger. Why? Because it must charge using a 240-volt line and no less than a 20-amp circuit, which at 80%, can draw no less than at 16-amps. Whereas a typical home outlet, is 120 volts and a 15-amp rated line, which has a maximum amperage draw, at 80% which is 12-amps. I tried. I bought what in the RV world is called a dog bone, that allows me to take the 14-50 plug and put it into the dog bone, which then allows me to plug into a 5-15 receptacle, i.e., my household plug. However, my household plugs are 15-amp circuits that can draw a maximum of 12 amps. But that won’t work. Which is a disappointment, as most Level 2 chargers add the versatility to draw from a common 120-volt, 15-amp household circuit, this did not allow, so this did not work. I had to plug and charge from a 240-volt receptacle that allowed me to dial down to a 16-amp draw. So, a very big disappointment for me. Shame on me for not reading the listing more carefully. So, this turned into a big paperweight for me. This does appear to be heavy duty and durable. I had no issues with charging at level 2 (240-volts), but not on a typical 120-volt line. There is no smartphone App to control this, so, it’s a dumb, not smart charger. I also used a splitter (cable) and there was no issue in charging (although this use is not recommended, the biggest being safety). I appreciate the carrying case that was included. I also found this worked with extension cords (again, not recommended, due to safety concerns). Has a 25’ cable, which the standard. Country of origin? China Value I selected this at $285 – which has caused me to have remorse, considering the above issue I had with this not working from a 15-amp circuit. Look for coupons, for a much cheaper price. Drawbacks: Not being able to work from 120-volt, 15-amp draw. This is average in size and weight, for a level 2 charger, at about (14LBS) with the case, which is not very fancy. Not possible to download APP to use this. A Bluetooth connectivity option does not seem possible. Ethernet connectivity option does not seem possible. For the most part, it’s a dumb charger. Bottom-Line I would not select this again. Not being able to charge on a (15-amp) circuit was a significant disappoint. It’s a weak four (4) stars for me. I would look elsewhere for a charger that can work on 120/240 volt 15-amp lines. Safety Oh, yes, always shut power off at the circuit when plugging this in or taking the plug out, for optimal safety. Bottom-line, an enthusiastic on the shoulder of the road five (5) stars. If it was I hope my thoughts added information. ... show more
