I’ve recently leased a Kia Ev6. Inside my garage I converted a 15 year old outlet installed by the previous owner to run a compressor @240 volt to what I’ll call an oven plug ( standard 240 v outlet that you can plug this charger into ). I’ve only got a 30amp fuse coming to this outlet. This charger pushes enough juice to my Ev6 to get it to 90% ( my limit for now ) from say 20% in about 6 hours ( 3 hours faster than the car thinks it will Take ) Like the display and hooks nicely and securely to the car charging port . This Level 2 EV charger by QPQ, is a good way to get up to 40 amps flowing into your EV with good quality and a very usual app to control things. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying. I. Quality – It looks and feels like a good quality charger that’s above the average EV charger. II. Performance – It has performed great so far with an app to control things and display helpful information. This charger allows up to 40 amps that’s high on the scale of what’s available currently and will charges cars relatively quickly. Being able to select the amps and a timer with buttons on the front as well as the app is a bonus, so you can charge only as fast as needed (it’s better for the batteries) and charge when the rates are cheaper. The 21-foot cable is on the shorter side and could be a problem if you end up needing to park further away from the main unit. You might not always be able to park next to the plug. It uses a NEMA 14-50 plug only, so make sure you have one installed. They’ve included 10 different safety features that should help to keep things safe as you charge in the middle of the night. Overall, this is a solid higher output choice, that’s functioned perfectly so far and can provide a great budget friendly way to get 48 amps of juice at home. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it. You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. If you're looking for a faster way to charge and have access to a 240V outlet, this is a great option! I tested this on a 2023 Tesla Model Y using a standard J1772 to Tesla adapter. It worked very well. I've tried several EV chargers and this one is one of the best. For home use, I plugged it into a 14-50 50a outlet and connected it to my home Wi-Fi. I can control the charge settings from the app or from the buttons on the charger. Plugged into a 240v outlet and charging at 40a charges at a rate of 9.6 Kw. It will charge my car from 40-80% in under 3 hours. For traveling, this charger is small enough to take along. If you are lucky enough to find a 50a outlet, you can charge at the 40a rate. If you only find a 30a outlet, you can set the charge level to 24a. I have a 5-15p to 14-50r adapter cord that allows me to use this charger on a standard 120v outlet. You can adjust the current to either 8a or 16a. If you have a 20a 120v outlet, you can use the 16a setting. If it's only a 15a outlet or there are other things on that circuit, you can change it to the 8a setting. You can set a schedule with the app or set a charging time using the buttons on the unit. Look carefully at the manual to understand the times. For example, to set it to 3 hours, you press the timer button until the 1 and the 2 LEDs are on (1+2=3). You can set the timer to 1-12 hours in one-hour increments. ... show more

This is a very potable, fast charging choice as EV chargers go. 40 Amps is higher than many options, and while the difference from something like 32 Amp to 40 is not that big, it's noticeably fast and has never left me in a pinch, the car is always charged faster than you expect with this charger. And this doesn't require special wiring to support that capacity, making it easy to install and use even in households. You can also set a timer to pre-plan charges, which is very helpful for electricity bills if you live in a city that lowers rates at off-peak hours. It comes with a carrying bag and is solid enough that you can easily toss this in the trunk or backseat and travel with it, which adds a welcome option for longer trips. This EV charger is the best of both worlds, you can keep it in the carry case and have it with you, or you can make it a little more permanent and hang it from your wall. I do suggest going for the option with the longer cord though. 4 feet may not seem like a lot, but in some situations, it can make all the difference. You can use the app to control the charger and take advantage of the times when electricity is cheaper.
