  • Great little amp for the money.
Style: Marine Amplifier
Was very impressed with this little amp, does a great job of powering 2 6.5" speakers on the boat, Very expandable and easy to adjust sound. Size makes it so easy to mount in just about any location.

  • Excellent value
Style: Marine Amplifier Elite
I have a WM7000 down below driving 2 older Bose speakers in the cabin of my sailboat with two Polk audio waterproof atrium 4 under the dodger on deck. Like most single din marine stereos, The WM7000 does not have the power to adequately drive these speakers. Adding the Pyle AMP produced amazing results. The unit is solid and well made. The terminal strips are top quality. Installation was easy. Integration with the WM7000 sound control features using RCA jacks is excellent. This unit comes with a 20 amp fuse…As a sailor and anchoring overnight without an engine running I was concerned the amp would be a power hog. But with my setup running all 4 speakers fairly loud I am seeing only a 1-2 amp draw which is no problem for my house bank. Much has been made of the unit not truly being waterproof. I agree with this but suggest that mounting an amp, or really any electrical component, in an area exposed to constant wetness is stupid - put it out of the weather. ... show more

  • Decent amp for the price but not highest quality
Style: Marine Amplifier Elite
I installed this on my boat as a cheap solution to run a bit more power to my 4 speakers (2 Alpine & 2 Fusion). Installation was easy (but I've wired a number of stereo systems and amps before) and it looks nice, but I would rate the sounds quality as just OK. Everyone knows in the amplifier world that all Watts are not created equal, so don't expect the volume and quality of a JL Audio, Alpine, Soundsteam or MTX. ... show more

  • Greatsound and INEXPENSIVE
Style: Marine Amplifier
Pretty impressed with this inexpensive little amp. I AM a bit of an audiophile, I like CLEAN music and sometimes like it LOUD without distortion. I have a competition quality $4000 stereo consisting of all Phoenix Gold amps three in fact, two Kicker Solobaric 12's, Kicker surround speakers for the rest of my system and it all puts together a CLEAN very LOUD awesome stereo that sets off car alarms and can be heard for blocks and blocks if I want it to be, but unfortunately none of that is waterproof for my Jeep. I figured I'd give this little guy a try, it is running two 6.5 Sony marine speakers in the doors and the Infinity Reference 6912m 6 x 9-Inch 300-Watt High-Performance 2-Way Marine Loudspeaker (Pair) in the back ( purchased here on Amazon as well ) and sounds pretty darn good, To tell you the truth for less than a Grant, this IS a really impressive little amplifier. I'm going to get the two channel amp as well and a couple of inexpensive Pyle 10's to add some MORE bass to the Jeep ( really can't believe how cheap this stuff is, I always considered pyle as just that a PILE of China *%*#& but I admit I was wrong,I have had nothing but GOOD experiences with this low cost audio ). It is great to have a good sounding stereo in my Jeep, that I don't really have to worry about it getting wet or worrying to much about being a target for thieves, most folks consider Pyle products the way I USED to. PLUS, MY ENTIRE SYSTEM COST LEES THAN ONE SPEAKER IN MY PREVIOUS SETUP - THAT ALONE IS AWESOME ... show more

  • Good amp but only 200 watts
Style: Marine Amplifier
Before I go into detail I'm going to say this. This amp comes with a 20 amp fuse. Therefore 20 amps X 12 volts = 240 watts input power MAX. This means that the max this amp could ever put out is 240 watts if it had 100% efficiency and pulled the maximum power from its fuse. So I'm guessing the real output from this amp is probably less than 200 watts which in a best case scenario would be half of the rated power of this amp. However this is not to say this amp is a complete waste of money. I put this on a 96 Club Car DS powering a Pyle 6.5 inch sub and 2 6 inch Scosche speakers with a Pyle 30 dollar head unit. I put the speakers on one of the subs volume channels and the sub on the other so I can max out the bass of the sub before the cheap speakers become distorted. I normally keep the head unit on 20 of 40 volume and its loud enough that you can't talk to the person next to you in the front seat. And you get plenty of looks cruising the neighborhood blaring rap on the speakers. So while this amp has plenty of power to drive my setup, if you're planning on putting this in a car I wouldn't plan on powering much more than 4 6 inch speakers and 2 small subs. Another thing to note is that this is a pretty large amp to only put out 200 watts or less but on the positive side its large size allows this thing to dissipate heat to the point that it stays cool to the touch. So it lying on the power output caused me to knock off a star. ... show more

  • Good Amplifier
Style: Marine Amplifier
I never planned on using this amplifier for marine use, for the price, and being 4-channel, I wanted to use to power my car's main speakers. For this use, it's awesome, I can get my speakers beyond the stereo head unit's RPM rating of 35watt per speaker, close to the speaker's RMS rating of 50watt. This in turn makes it so I don't have to buy a newer stereo head unit to get better or louder sound. This will also make the bass come out better. The only complicated part is you have to have your stereo unit go to this amplifier's input, and then the outputs going to your speakers. I used quick disconnects for this purpose so if I needed to take out the amplifier I could still get my radio hooked up quickly. This all is time consuming, so expect this not to be a plug and play experience for the average person. Concerning the waterproof part, for my purpose this part doesn't affect me, but the product's description says "waterproof" because of it's marine usage. I want to take note about what the instruction manual says about this; it mentions if the unit gets wet or damp, to IMMEDIATELY wipe and dry it off... that doesn't sound waterproof to me, more so, the speaker connectors are like any other speaker connections where you screw on the wire, and are exposed to any weather conditions if the unit is not properly mounted in a waterproof location, if somehow you could a decent amount of water spilled on this area, it will most likely bridge and short out, but that's just my 2 cents. ... show more
