Easy install. Low power consumption. Shows good detail to about 40 feet. After 40 gets a bit hazy. You can see grass and some structure, but on fish. I would haven given 5 star. But the trolling motor mount is a complete joke. Poorly thought out. Ordered to additional mounts from Bass Pro as the original positioning ears sheer off. Hopefully someone will come up with a shaft mount ... show more

After several emails back and forth with Lowrance, they finally confessed that the Eagle Eye 9 CANNOT display the Custom Depth Shading feature of the C-MAP Discover chip. I regarded this feature as the only reason to purchase the chip (since the EE9 is an additional unit, and my primary fish finder has detailed mapping). Fortunately, $50 is not a fortune; however, Lowrance should have disclosed this limitation of its product. ... show more
