The media could not be loaded. *****UPDATED REVIEW***** AS OF 09-21-16 I reached out to the company after receiving a defective unit (as seen in my old review) and the seller was very responsive and helpful. The exceptional level of customer service I received from KNDirect made me give this product a 2nd try. They shipped me a second one and this unit was a night and day difference from the defective unit. I understand that when items are mass produced there are bound to be defective units, that's just the nature of mass production. So now that I have a properly working unit I can say that this steamer works like a champion. I've always ironed before and had contemplated getting a steamer but never did till now. Now I'm just wondering why I took so damn long to try a steamer. I absolutely hate ironing and now that I have this, I don't think I'll ever pick up an iron again. I've only used it once and I was able to steam and get rid of all wrinkles in 4 dress shirts in the same amount of time it takes me to iron one. If you happen to get a defective unit I would strongly suggest giving it a second chance on a working unit before giving up on this. The only reason it doesn't get a perfect 5 stars is because of the first defective unit I received. Had it not been for that, I would say this PurSteam Steamer would deserve a perfect rating. ***OLD REVIEW BELOW*** Absolutely AWFUL experience with this product! Burned the hell out of my hand on first use. Not using again and will be returning. So I followed all the instructions to the T. I didn't over fill it, I kept it level, the top piece was properly secured on with the two arrows aligned accordingly, turned it on and waited for it to heat up. It heated up in about a minute or two and as soon as steam began to come out, SCALDING HOT WATER SPEWED OUT from the seal (or lack thereof) that connects the bottom piece to the top piece and onto my hand. I'm pretty sure my neighbors a block away heard me scream, "insert expletive" at the top of my lungs. I immediately unplugged it from the wall socket and cut off the power on the unit itself. I let it cool and made sure there wasn't too much water (there wasn't), that it was level (it was), made sure the top piece was secured (it was), and gave it another whirl, this time I stood back and did not put my hands anywhere near it. hot water still came out from the seal but this time it wasn't as much as the first time, HOWEVER, when the water is scalding hot, it doesn't need to be more than a few drops to burn the hell out of you. ***SEE MY VIDEO*** (I filmed it on my phone then transferred it to my computer which seems to have thrown the orientation off, I apologize but it's not my fault, the orientation is correct on my phone but you can't upload videos using the mobile app so I had to transfer to my pc, then upload to amazon). 2nd issue (as if the first one isn't bad enough) - I wrapped a towel around the handle to catch the streams of scalding hot water that would occasionally spew out in order to prevent from burning my hand. It was still dangerous but I wanted to see how the damn thing worked on wrinkles since I've never used a steamer before. It actually seemed to work ok up until two minutes when it would stop steaming. The unit was still on, light was on, however, it just stopped steaming. After a minute of no steam, it started steaming again for another minute then stop again for a minute. It did this over and over. Is this how the unit works??? If so, it is COMPLETE GARBAGE. Because of this constant starting and stopping every minute, it took me what seemed like an eternity to steam one shirt. I felt like an idiot trying to steam as much as I possibly could in that 1 minute that it would run before it would stop steaming for the next minute in which I'd just be standing their waiting a whole minute for it to start steaming again. One minute doesn't seem long on paper but try starting and stopping for one minute, every other minute, while doing something you're trying to get done quickly you'll quickly realize that those minutes will add up and feel like an eternity of wasted time. ... show more

I needed a small steamer for travel and while this isn't teeny tiny, it is a decent size and light. Worked well with little spitting. Glad I purchased it.

I could write about this steamer for hours I love it so much. This steamer deserves 10 stars , not just for the steamer itself but also for the fact that the seller sends a follow up email telling you tips for the steamer, which is so awesome. So this is my second purchase of this steamer, my first was for myself when I decided that I deserve to live the luxurious lifestyle of someone who owns a clothing steamer. Let me explain, I work in retail and sometimes I dress mannequins. My company provides us with a really nice full size steamer that we use for the mannequins outfits and I have always found the process of steaming clothing to be delightful. The steamer allowed me to get wrinkles out of any garment we put on the mannequin, this sort of blew my mind because some of the fabrics are delicate and could never be ironed. Let me just say that I love ironing. I know that is probably weird but when I was in college my mom bought me my first iron and the process of removing wrinkles from any garment that my little heart desired was just...therapeutic. The thing I hate is ironing boards. I am inept at using an ironing board. I literally have serious issues closing them up back into their flat, storable state. Not only that but they take up a decent amount of room. It is not fun nor easy to set up an ironing board/ironing station, the only fun part is removing the wrinkles from clothing. The other thing I dont enjoy about ironing is when it gets too hot and ruins my clothes. Yeah, maybe the problem is that I buy clothes made from mystery fabrics created in a shady laboratory. Maybe the problem is that I dont read the instructions on the iron correctly or on the label of my clothing. Maybe I should just buy only cotton clothing, but cmon, I work in retail, I do not make a lot of money, I look at a steamer as a luxury item, so you see where I am coming from. This is what brought me to Amazon in search of a steamer, now the space issue again comes into play. I live in a house built in 1900, the closets are obviously made for very small men because 1. they are narrow, like not wide enough to fit a regular sized hanger, and 2. they are tiny, like too small to fit more than 3 suits and a pair of jeans. So not only can I not fit an ironing board in them, I also cannot fit a full size steamer in them, or anywhere near the amount of clothes I own which is why I have two dressers and a rolling rack in my room lol. THIS STEAMER SAVED MY LIFE. I might be being a little dramatic but I can probably give you 100 reasons why this steamer saved my life. Instead, I will just list a few of the awesome perks of this steamer. 1. you can travel with this steamer. I work in retail, as I said before, and my job involves some travel, and my sanity requires me to travel in my free time. This steamer has been around this beautiful country of ours multiple times. Like the time corporate gave me a weeks notice to travel cross country, bring only one bag, and bring a "red carpet ready" type gown to wear to a formal event. Uhhh what? Thank you PurSteam steamer for making my balled up chiffon dress look like its "red carpet ready." 2. this steamer comes with an adorable bag and is easy to store. See closet comments above. 3. this steamer heats up fast! I work long days, which sometimes means early mornings. I am expected to look "normal" at work, but also love to sleep so this steamer will literally get my clothes from wrinkled to wonderful in less than 5 minutes. 4. this steamer makes me feel like an adult. Not sure if pro but I feel pretty adulty when I unwrinkle my clothes. 5. this steamer doesnt have multiple settings, because it doesnt need them, because I have tried it on many different kinds of fabrics and it has never ruined anything I own, and works wonderfully every time. I think I mentioned that this is the second one of these I am buying. That is because my sister steals mine, like everyday and it gets annoying. So I am getting her one for Christmas, and it will probably be her favorite gift, and I will finally get my steamer back all to myself Muahahahhahaha. Anyway, buy this steamer. Seriously, buy it. I have never left a review this long on anything in my life but this steamer is worth it, this steamer is worth so much more.
