  • This is as good as it gets (for me)...but I still could have a little more
Color: Teal Size: B5 Softcover
I was on the fence about this planner, but in the end, I decided to keep it. I ordered 4 planners and this is the one I will keep. For my purposes, it is close to perfect, but I do wish they had gone the extra mile in certain areas (see below). Also, there is a typo on one of the first pages, which left me scratching my head ("Bukcet List" instead of "Bucket List" on page 4. No one is perfect, but I do expect a little more from a professionally printed book). Since we all look for planners for different reasons and with different priorities, I'll tell you mine...I wanted something to help set and achieve short term and longer term goals with a way to track progress on a daily basis. I am in transition mode, starting a new business, but still having all the family/life duties. In order to find more time in my day, I know I need to establish better productivity habits, keep inspiration and reward myself of achievements. I keep my daily schedule/calendar online, so I wanted a physical planner that deemphasized hourly schedules. Ideally, there would be a lot of space for To-Do lists. I had a hard time finding something that bridged goal / habit setting with To-Do lists, so I decided I might need to supplement the planner with a separate To-Do list page/sticky note. The pros of this planner: The thing I love most about this planner is that it has great organization on the page. It breaks out To-Dos into Work/Career, Home, Friends and Projects. There is a section called "To Buy" and a small box for "Not To Do List." I found this "Not To Do List" title funny, but also helpful and open ended. You could make it really anything. It's just the right size to pick one thing to stop doing for the week. It also has a "Sleep Tracker" section. Important for me because I have trouble sleeping. There is a brief inspirational quote in this section. There is a "Self-Care" by week and a separate "Habits" section with daily check box. There is even a small section for Notes and a way to keep track of meals for the day and water consumption. SO, there is a LOT going on for each undated weekly 2-pages. I love the faint gray color and font. The pages are pleasing to look at and while each section is small, they have a grid of dots. One downside is that you have to be prepared to write very small, but the grids are helpful in keeping things lined up. I haven't really tried yet, so maybe this will be difficult, but I did also purchase some thin pens and hope that will help. Although there is not a lot of room on the 2 pages for the week, after each week, there are 2 pages for Notes and Do Do Lists, also with a grid in the background. You could use this for more creative journaling or expanding some of the To Dos from the previous pages. There is a packet at the back of the journal. There is also a 6 Month Roles & Goals section, Reading List and 6 Month Bucket List section in the front to help with larger picture goals. Again, you could use this or not depending on your needs. Another neat addition is the planner has page numbers. This is helpful because the planner is undated. You can keep track of your month/weeks/goals, but putting their page numbers in the Notes Index section in the front. Finally, I like that there is an elastic strap around the journal. So, when you put this in your purse or workbag, the pages will not get bent and you could keep an extra sheet or two securely in the planner if needed). So, where is the planner lacking? I would have preferred to have a planner with a hard cover. I find it makes writing on the run much easier (This could have made the book heavier, but I'm okay with that tradeoff). I am slightly worried the paper is thin and pen ink might bleed to the back of the page. I wish there were some tabs, say for Month 1, etc. to keep track in the big and thick planner. Finally, yes, that first typo made a lasting negative impression. But, I overlooked that because it is also a reminder that we are all human. ... show more

  • Great format combines scheduling, tracking, planning and journaling
Color: Teal Size: B5 Softcover
The Purpose Planner is brilliantly formatted for people who really like to get everything all down on paper: including calendar, schedule, prompts for tasks as well as goal-setting, habit tracking, and pages for random thoughts and note taking. In fact, there are so many ways to customize it that you might want to start out in pencil as you decide on changes. The only suggestion I'd make is to carry over the format of the monthly goals & priorities section exactly as shown to each week's corresponding layout (the format carried over to each week varies slightly so that only 4 of the 6 subheads from the monthly section are shown--so I just manually add those missing goals/actions subheads back in to each week's "Priority Actions" section, and also add a couple of my own). And, finally, wouldn't we all want the product to be less expensive, as each planner covers just 6 months? But I was a book production manager (now retired), and can attest that the quality of the printing, lay-flat binding, paper & cover stock quality & weight, and extras like the elastic and fabric markers, ample pages for bullet journaling, back inside pocket, and color options are well worth the investment. ... show more

  • Well thought out, organized and the PERFECT planner!
Color: Teal Size: B5 Hardcover
Finally I found the PERFECT planner for my needs! I'm extremely picky about planners and have purchased many different ones only to feel they're lacking in one detail or another - until this one which has every detail that's important to me covered. First you write down goals you want to accomplish and you break those goals down into smaller steps. There's also a Bucket List and Reading List, an Annual Key Dates spread followed by a 2 page spread of Annual Notes you can record in monthly blocks. There is an index page (very important for me) so you can keep track of what page has what on it; numbered pages is a detail most planners don't have and I appreciate this detail. Next you have a 2 page month spread, undated, with separate blocks to jot down goals achieved, memories, things you can do better, learning and insights, reasons to be grateful, strengths and affirmations, fun, health and habits, projects, friends and networks, home, work and career. There's ample room to jot down stuff, and if any of those categories don't apply to you, simply cover with a sticker and that adds some color to your month! This spread is followed by 2 blank pages with dot grids for extra lists or notes you may want to record. Then you have a 2 page week spread for your schedule and to do's along with blocks to record water intake, notes, ideas, etc., gratitude, plus a habit tracker, sleep tracker, to buy list, a NOT to do list, projects, home, work and home. So much room for all these extra things to record, not to mention another 2 page dot grid spread following every week spread. At the very end you have a self care checklist and productivity tips to help you along with your goals. This planner has been very carefully thought out - my favorite details are the numbered pages and index, blank pages after every month and weekly spread, and the space to keep track of so many details in a neat, clean and organized layout. This is by far the best planner ever. It's undated (6 months) for those of us who may skip a month or may want to start at any month, however I would love to see a 1 year planner in the future. ... show more
