We switched to this dog food because it came highly recommended by our wonderful vet. I started noticing positive changes in our dogs within the first week. We have a 5 year old basset hound and a 10 year old cur mix, and they both absolutely love this food. This was a relief because one of them can be a bit picky, and both have sensitive stomachs. Since switching to Purina Pro, I’ve observed several significant improvements in both of them. Within a few weeks, they appeared healthier overall, with a noticeable increase in their energy levels. I believe this is because they are now getting the full range of nutrients they need to be happy, healthy pups—nutrients that aren't typically found in most dry dog foods. One of the most important improvements I noticed is their consistency with bowel movements. It used to vary from day to day between the two of them, but now their overall gut health has become much better and more predictable. This consistency allows me to easily identify and monitor any abnormalities so that if something is wrong or they aren’t feeling well, I can address the issue quickly. Previously, it was challenging to determine if something was wrong because their digestive health varied from day to day, along with their gas and bowel movements. I can't recommend this food enough! My dogs are literally like my children, so I have very high expectations for everything that involves them—even the smallest details. So its safe to say, if my dogs are consuming this food and I’m satisfied enough to come here and write this positive review, which has somehow turned into a novel, then you should absolutely be feeding this to your pups. They deserve it and it’s worth every penny. -The only negative point worth mentioning is that the salmon and rice flavor has a bit of a pungent smell. Had our English Lab on this since we got him at 8 weeks old. Not only did the breeder we got our do from recommend Purina Pro Plan 30/20. Our dog developed an allergy we thought was to this food, so we changed to the salmon, no success he was still scratching all the time (no fleas). Turned out he had seasonal allergies and it had nothing to do with the food . We tried other high quality brands , and he liked it, so we left him on other brand. His poops were HUGE and, his coat was dull and he was shedding like crazy. He’s been very active and I decided to put him bank to where almost all English Lab breeders use. They have their show dogs on this. Well Codi’s energy level and overall appearance changed before our eyes. We do use salmon oil with the food, and my dog is an entirely different dog. I have 2 dogs a husky shepherd, and doberman Shepard. The husky will eat anything he is just a good boy like that, but my girl is a VERY picky eater. I've had to try numerous brands on the market, actually prepare her meals by softening food and mixing in other stuff, applying heat etc and Everytime she was eventually stop eating all together. no such issues with pro plan. You can tell just from the smell of the food compared to others on the market that the ingredients, and quality of the food is on another level. They absolutely devour this when it's eating time. My senior dog has been eating this dogfood for several years , He really likes it and he maintains a healthy weight, His vet states he is very healthy.
