UPDATED REVIEW 10/6/19: Customer service contacted me with two hand written notes asking me to please give them a chance to make right my experience with their company. They sent me a new diffuser and several new oils to try with it. I spoke with a manager who listened to my experience and made sure I knew that customer service was their number one priority. A week later the company contacted me again to make sure I had received the new diffuser. They were extremely pleasant to work with and DEFINITELY want to keep their customers happy. The new diffuser works much like the old one but I learned that what I thought was boiling water in the diffuser is actually the ionizer working - my mistake! The steam is still warm to the touch but I can smell the oils relatively well, and had such a nice experience with the customer service department that I am happy to continue using it. OLD REVIEW: I used this diffuser for a little over a month and am disappointed that I rarely smell the oils anymore. I believe this is due to the fact that the unit heats the water inside to such a high temperature. During operation, the steam that comes out of the unit is hot to the touch. I am not an essential oil expert but this can't be good for the high quality (expensive) oils that I am using in it. When I contacted customer service about the temperature of the water, this is how they responded: "Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear about the trouble you are experiencing with the scent from your diffuser. There are a few reasons why you may not be able to smell your oils: There aren’t enough essential oils in your tank or the oil being diffused isn’t a very strong oil. Lighter oils such as lemon, lime, and orange dissipate quickly and will not “smell” for very long. We recommend using more oil or combining with a stronger scent such as peppermint or geranium. We have also noted that higher-quality oils tend to have a more potent aroma so you may want to experiment with types and brands of oils. The room is too large for the size or type of diffuser. You may be experiencing olfactory fatigue, which is the temporary, normal inability to distinguish a particular odor after a prolonged exposure to that airborne compound. While your nose may have “gotten used to” the aroma of the oil you’re diffusing, you will still be receiving any of that oil’s health/therapeutic benefits. As for the design, we're sorry to hear that it didn't meet your expectations. If you're still within Amazon's 30-day return window, please initiate an RMA through your Amazon account via Your Orders." The temperature of the water was not addressed. I also expressed my disappointment in the imitation wood finish. The photo on Amazon makes the wood appear real or at least a close second. What I received was a dark, fake wood finish over plastic. I am disappointed especially because I like the shape of this particular diffuser. In fact, when I received the unsatisfactory response from customer service I continued to use the diffuser anyway simply because I like the shape. Few others appeal to me and I couldn't find another I liked. Now I wish I had returned it because I have since purchased several of the essential oil blends hoping they would work, (NOW Good Morning, Sunshine! NOW Clear the Air, Five Guards Immunity Synergy Blend Health Shield) and can barely smell any of them after the diffuser runs for more than a half hour. By the way, I am using 5 drops of oil in the diffuser (max recommended amount) in my small to average-sized laundry room. I cannot recommend this product. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This is the 2nd diffuser I’ve had. It is attractive, has a quiet hum but the top is a little tricky to get in place. I also notice a wide range of how long the diffuser actually stays on. Mine does not have the timer but even when filled to the max line, it stays on anywhere between 6-10 hours. ... show more

Add water and add scent, put top part over base and touch the face of it to activate. Shuts off when liquid is all gone. Fills the entire area with the scent and I’d recommend lemon which has a strong presence compared to others I’ve tried.

I recently purchased this diffuser based upon the great "unbiased reviews". I would have to say a lot of the reviews are true about it being a great diffuser but I do have some concerns. It is a quiet diffuser in regards to no water noise, but I realized soon after turning it on that the base of the unit was making a noisy humming frequency sound. That I felt wouldn't bother me as long as I kept in a high traffic area like the kitchen. I didn't feel it was quiet enough for me to keep in a room to use at night. That to me was a bit disheartening due to the fact that a bedroom is what I bought this diffuser for. After just a few hours I went to turn the unit off and felt the base was warm. I opened up the top and the water was very warm almost hot. I have other diffusers in just about every room in my house and neither of them have ever warmed up water like this one had. I did have another brand diffuser on with the same oils in another room and I wanted to compare the mist coming out. They both had a generous mist but with this diffuser I could smell a faint plastic scent and could not smell the essential oils as much either. I am not sure if this due to it being brand new. I did understand that this unit is BPA free but still did not like smelling plastic. I haven't read any other reviews of this diffuser overheating or warming the water. So I tried to contact the company for some answers via their website but it is only by email and I have yet to get a response. I am hoping that I just received a defective base and can get a replacement directly through the company or I may just send back to Amazon and reorder a new one and try it again. I really want to give this diffuser 5 stars because it is exactly what I was wanting, sleek design and a quiet diffuser. I am just not too happy about the base and water warming up and the noise it was making. I did not receive this product at a discount and paid full amazon price. This is my honest unbiased review. I love this diffuser! Clean lines, works like a horse around the clock. It's a little louder than my other diffuser, but it's also bigger, so that may come with the territory. Happy with my purchase.
