I got this for my 3 year old. The gloves are to big which was expected but he still put them on and plays with it and thinks it's awesome. We filled the bottom with water and I noticed that even with that It would not be heavy enough to stand up to a bigger child hitting it. Hes a little over 3 ft and 33 lbs and it works great for him however even a bigger 5 year old would knock it over easily trying to play with it I believe. I would recommend this as hes had a lot of fun with it and he and his papa "practice" punching and kicking it. I'm going to start off by saying that if this did not have instructions with it I wouldn't have had a clue how to put it together. There were so many extra pieces then I thought there would be and that was super confusing for me. The second thing that I thought was a little crazy was that the little bag that you blow up was bigger on the outside than the actual balloon that blows up on the inside so it limps over a little bit. Not a lot but it doesn't stand up straight like in the picture so that was a little disappointing. But other than that this is a great little punching bag. It is very durable which is nice and it's easy to blow up. And I love that the stand is adjustable because I have two different kids of very different sizes and they can both play with this thing. I mean if we're being honest even I play with it. So overall it's not bad it was just a little difficult to put together in the bag doesn't inflate as much as I thought it would. My 7 year old son has been wanting a punching bag. He is big into playing ninja and pretending to muscle build. This punching bag is adequate for what he needs. Fill the base with water or sand and it stands up well against the hardest ninja punch. A little hard to assemble but not too bad. The set was very well packaged - good enough that you could wrap it and give it as a Christmas present. That said, it only didn't get five stars because the bag was smaller than what was pictured. That didn't really deter my seven-year-old from playing with it though, and I am certain that he'll be getting in quite a bit of quality time with it in the coming days! But he is 34, lol it's my grandson who I thought would like it but nope. My 6yr old for some reason wanted to kick it instead of punch it but I think he's just not interested in boxing or he may be a bit too old for this, he's more interested in Minecraft. I didn't see the age recommendation but 4yrs may be the oldest for this type of toy. This is honestly a great toy. It was pretty easy to assemble, only took me about 5-10 minutes to set up. When you punch it, it actually springs back up so smoothly and easily and works how you’d expect it to. My son absolutely loves this, and even for me as an adult, it’s pretty fun to use. My only complaint is that I wish the gloves were a little bigger. My son is 5 (he’s pretty big for a 5 year old) and I can barely get the gloves on him. I know they’re meant to be tight so they don’t fall off but there’s no way I’m going to be able to get them on him for much longer.
