Thor product worked right out of the box. I used on a zoeller sump pump which has the float switch stuck on. This was the easier approach rather than removing from pit and replacing switch. Regarding documentation: if you are buying this you probably already know how to set it up, but it's worth mentioning that there are 2 small Allen screws you can adjust to modify the on/off depths of water.
