Features

  • highly innovative back release tool: the pso-back helps release muscle tissue and trigger points which surround the lower spine and reduce your ability to rotate, flex, and extend the spine creating undesirable stiffness.
  • your massage therapist wherever you need it: losing the natural curvature of the spine spells disaster for anyone. the pso-back uses hard nodes mimicking a therapist's thumb in combination with a gentle curve, which allows you to release muscular tension, decompress, and stretch the spine providing relief for pinched nerves, herniated discs, and spinal stenosis.
  • deep tissue massage on demand: the pso-back can provide relief first thing in the morning if you awake with stiffness. it can be used as a fantastic massage tool when placed behind you in your chair while sitting, and it can also help decompress and stretch the spine after a long day on your feet.
  • versatile and precise: targets deep, specific and difficult-to-access muscles. use it at home, or take it to the gym or the office for relief any time of day. the pso-back is as versatile as it needs to be for your lifestyle.

  • Worth it!
Color: Bora Teal Blue
I want to begin by saying that I also bought the hip one (Pso-Rite) at the same time and never had any intention of keeping both. I’m keeping both. I can’t really afford $80 for a piece of plastic, either, but how much is it worth to get a little pain relief? Some days I’d give anything and everything just for a few minutes of relief so while I wasn’t terribly convinced this would work for me (I had spine surgery last year), it was definitely worth a shot. Maybe I have muscle tension along with the nerve pain, I don’t know, but this helps- a LOT!! I will say that I think it’s a terrible idea to get on the floor with this thing on Day One, though. Anyone who’s been in pain for a long time probably isn’t in shape enough to hold themselves up hovering over this contraption for long, and in my case, was worried that if I did put too much weight on it, could break my fusion/hardware. Nah, just put it on the back of your couch or easy chair and lean on back (lol @JusRay). Easy-peasy and SO much safer than falling on it! I tried the floor thing. It didn’t go well. Nothing disastrous, I just couldn’t lower myself onto it evenly or in a way that didn’t feel like a trip to the emergency room was imminent. I put some throw pillows over each end and that helped but I didn’t feel like I had made much progress. I put it away and thought I’d try again in a day or two. Then I went to the kitchen and got on my step ladder and for the first time in over eight years, my right side didn’t hurt! My left still hurt, but I hadn’t put any weight on that side bc my left arm is too weak to hold myself up on that side. I was shocked! I hadn’t even done the muscle exhaustion thing! Now if you don’t know, the goal is to dig these ridges in a little and find a super tender spot and grind into it until the muscle gives up resistance. It hurts! A LOT! But if you can outlast the fight, all that tension goes away and you’ll get some relief. Of course, there are almost always more spots so I do as many as I can stand in each session (2-4, mine are super stubborn and take forever to give up), but once you get them all done, it takes longer and longer for them to come back. Then it’s just maintenance and you’ll only have one or two to get you feeling like new again. Yeah, I didn’t do that the first time and it still helped! Which is good, bc the hip thing hurts even more! I can’t decide which is more valuable (this Pso-Back or the Pso-Rite) but I’m lucky because I don’t have to. I did the Affirm payments plan to get these to my house so I could decide which to keep but now I guess I’ll just make the payments bc I love them both WAY too much to part with either! The good part of it just being a piece of hard plastic is that I think they’ll last a lifetime and I’m not getting any younger. I can’t tell you how many times I wish I had something I could grind into a knot in my back and now I do, forever! I’m not gonna lie, I kinda want to try the neck one now, too! ... show more

  • Back Pain, No More, Too Pricey -Pro Athlete
Color: Night Black
I was really skeptical of this item at first. The price point is really high for a few pieces of plastic. However, the plastic this thing is built out of is very sturdy. I'm a large guy, who's currently active in sport at the professional level. The pso-back has been a tremendous addition to my daily routine. I'll say this thing has helped me through a nasty back spasm recently. This is a great alternative to pain relievers and other rehab tools. I have recommended this product to friends, coaches, and other athletes alike. My back has never felt better . I only have this a 4 star due to the price. If, the price was lower, it'd be a 5 star product. ... show more

  • Works great but it is overpriced!
Color: Bora Teal Blue
It helped resolve my low back and hip pain. I have a flexible spine so the arch works well. It feels very comfortable, better than the rotating back massagers I tried. Well made but $ 70 is too much for a plastic piece. Saw other models from this company on Alibaba for ~$ 7! Unfortunately, not this curved back massager. 3* because of price gauging ... show more

  • Tough… but fair.
Color: Night Black
A lot of the reviews have 30 seconds or a minute as the ideal times when starting. This thing is no joke so be prepared if you have to start with 10 second intervals. Best complimented with softer options like a foam roller in between sets on this.

  • So good it hurts!
Color: Bora Teal Blue
Having heard about PSO rite, I wanted to get one for my back as I have a bad habit of sitting awkwardly at work. Upon first trial, I was ready to return this thing it hurted me so bad and not in a good way. Did some futher research and was told that the pain is normal for first few tries until you get use to it. So gave it another go and toughed it out. Toughing out is what did the job. After about the first 20-30 seconds of torture, the pain just magically went away and I felt I could lay on it for a minute or longer. Used this thing everyday and noticed that my back was hurting as much. Great job PSO back! ... show more

  • Cool idea, terrible product
Color: Night Black
I’m a rather muscular dude. 6’3 @ 245 lbs with a lot of back issues. This is the most rigid and uncomfortable product designed for “relief”, I’ve ever tried. Sharp edges and stiff plastic make for a painful session. Stick to foam rolling and stretching especially. Save your money.

  • Gets into my back around the shoulder blade like nothing else I've tried
Color: Sunset Red
I have bad posture and my upper back suffers from it. My muscles are always tight around the upper part of my back in between the spine and shoulder blades. If I lay on it just right I can move around and it digs in there and pulls all the tight muscles better than my back cane tool. For me this was worth it for just that. It does stretch out the back well too. Hardest part is getting used to it when you first get it. Use a pillow first for a whiile and remove the pillow when you're ready. ... show more
