  • Awesome
Style: Lite Color: Black
If I'd had this dip station as a kid, I wouldn't have broken my arm from enthusiastically swinging between the backs of the dining room chairs and the back of the couch like a tiny hyperactive monkey after school. Needless to say I'm an adult now (kind of) and learned my lesson well about the questionable stability of dining chairs for the sake of acrobatics back then. I bought the "Lite" Dipping Station version. Despite the listed weight capacity of up to 400lbs, I wasn't sure if this would be sturdy enough to handle my heavy body weight so I really hestitated between this one and other ones, but I've had it for about 3 months now; it's still trucking same as it did on day one. This is a good one. It doesn't adjust up/down like some stations, but instead is basically two heavy duty bars connected to the bottom parts. I think that's what makes it so solid. It's very few pieces, and a lot of good heavy soldering where they connect. I'm glad I got this one instead of the kind that might "adjust down" on me unexpectedly while I'm using it. It's weird that an item named "lite" seems better to me than one named "pro"..? but... whatever. They're completely different styles and this one's a way better design for what I wanted and was looking for. Nice and solid, no up and down adjustables relying on little pins. Just solid. The dipping bars were pretty easy to put together and came with the only tool it needed (for putting in the screws.) It was easier than putting together a metal bedframe; it took maybe 5 minutes including reading the directions; you just have to pay attention to where the holes are on the lower part (like where the connecting bar goes. between the two) Otherwise it'll take an extra minute as you flip it. The connecting bar keeps the two dipping bars from skidding on smooth flooring, so I'd recommend putting it on, especially if you're a heavier weight, even though it's not necessarily needed. It keeps the bars together so you don't have to worry about it sliding. The cushion "handles" on the station are actually comfortable. No weird smell or any "stickiness" from them although it's gotten hot this summer. I didn't know at first if I'd like them, but they're good, and so far have been very durable. Getting it has made it SO much easier for me to do a little exercise more frequently without the exhaustion of setting up anything or planning to exercise, or the pressure of doing it for a set period of time. Once it's put togther, there's nothing to adjust, prep, or set up. It's just there: you can do it as you walk from your room to whereever or back, or not, and it takes literally no extra mental or physical effort or good intentions or planning. You either do or you don't, because it's right there and on the way. Stick it in front of a doorway and it's great. It's accessible. You don't have to take it out or put it away. And it barely takes any space. (Unlike my slant bench... that doesn't quite fit the room when set up... that I have to pull out to even use, and takes up a bunch of horizontal real estate I could use.) There are some things that when you buy them, they help you with your life, and this has been one of them, so thanks, company. You did a good job, and it's appreciated. I needed it. ... show more

  • Very good quality for the price
Style: Lite Color: Black
I read thru a LOT of item listings and reviews before getting this product. I had it narrowed down to my Top 3. One of them did not offer any type of free shipping, so it was out. Next on the list was this one. I'm glad I ended up getting it. Only took about 15 minutes to put it all together. There's only 8 screws you need to use, and everything fit just fine. The metal seems perfectly adequate, especially since the "weakest link" will probably be one of the screws, since it too is holding your weight up. The metal tubing is plenty fat, so your hands won't hurt nearly as much as smaller diameter tubing would when doing dips. There are a lot of choices for this kind of dip bar, so it can be a bit unnerving pulling the plug and hoping you chose right. Let this review give you confidence in this unit. I'm 5'8", 190 lbs. Sure you have to bend your knees a bit, but you likely would have to on any unit, and it's only natural to do when performing dips anyway because you're looking to prevent body sway. There were no defects, no paint missing, no sharp edges. The manual is a bit too small in its pics to tell how to assemble the pieces, but you'll quickly see how it goes together and it's no biggie. Buy this unit; join me in some dips. Just be careful to not do too many the first day you get it. Dips can make you SO SORE. I just did 7, and tomorrow I'll probably do the same. And eventually work up to maybe 15 per day, 4 or 5 times per week. I divide my body up into 11 main muscle groups and only do one set per muscle group, repeating this daily, with many "miss" days scattered in either because I'm too tired or too busy. But this kind of home exercise routine where you just do a little each day and try to build consistency works pretty well for someone not trying to go overboard with working out. You might consider doing the same! Good luck to all! ... show more

  • Super sturdy, super good but not what I’m looking for
Style: Pro Color: Black
This machine is a beast. It’s Sturdy, it has different height settings and it was super easy to put together. My only complaint the handle bars are too far apart from eachother. I’ve non stop been using this for 3 days and the muscles that are getting sore are my breast.. I bought this specifically to target my triceps and although OBVIOUSLY triceps are at work here, they’re not the focus.. the spacing on this machine makes it so that the muscles that are getting torn apart in the workout are like the chest muscles. If the handle bars were closer / adjustable to be together closer, the triceps would be doing all the work but since they’re so far apart it’s my chest that’s carrying the load.. you’ll know what I mean if you get this machine.. DONT BE MISGUIDED. It’s a really cool and awesome, sturdy machine but my triceps are not feeling sore at all and I’ve been doing triceps dips for the last 3 days for an hour a day. And my chest is the only thing that’s overwhelmingly sore. Not my triceps. Oh well ... show more

  • Adjustable and sturdy
Style: Lite Color: Red
I hurt my shoulder years ago and it's severe enough that l can't do flat or incline bench presses anymore without severe pain. Wide dip bars are also a no go. I took a chance and decided to give these bars a try and lm so glad l did. I have them set on the narrowest setting and with them set like this, lm able to do bodyweight dips with no pain at currently 255# and although the triceps are doing most of the work, if l go deep enough l can feel the doms in my chest, triceps and shoulders. I use these about once a week and they've been the key for me to finally be able to do a pushing movement without pain! ... show more
