The quality is very good. I love the feel of the hickory wood, it’s very light and responsive. Grip is basically good compared to other drumsticks, the only problem that I encountered was that one of the pairs already came badly chipped. And may cause splinters when playing, easy fix with a little bit of sanding. Lastly be careful with the size, on the product information it does show on the dimensions that the Leigh is 15.38” but in the last photo feature for the product it has a picture depicting the item to be 17” long. Lets face it I bought these for price. Im an experienced long time player who plays with light sticks. I break sticks. Its just part of it. They are consumables. What I didnt expect was for these sticks to do better then my name brand sticks that advertised durability. I love oak sticks and those lasted a good while but were as expensive for a pair as these were for three. These wont out last a pair of those but nearly kept up. Three will out last and more. They much outlasted my name brand hickory sticks. Just a single pair. All in all for daily playing they work well. ... show more

I purchased these LA Specials a couple years ago and they were so durable and great for my use I purchased several more pairs. They are incredibly durable and long lasting. It takes awhile for the tips to start breaking down. I am an intermediate player and play hard often enough. In my experience hickory is the best wood for stick durability. These have been the longest lasting sticks I've ever used. I plan on keeping several pairs of these on hand at all times. I highly recommend that you buy, buy, buy! ... show more

Side by side with the name brand of these from the same company and the only difference I could feel was possibly less coating on these sticks and a small visible flaw that was overshadowed the first time I smacked a cymbal with the sticks. I'm 100% sold on these.
