  • Good audio, conveniently attached to your Quest 2
Color: for quest 2
The stock audio for the Quest to is actually remarkable decent, given it comes from two small speakers built into the strap mounting points. But that configuration obviously has limitations. Low volume, no bass, and people around you can hear everything. I've been searching for something to overcome those limitations. I tried the standard earphones that come with most apple phones. Sounds better than stock, white color blends nicely with the Quest 2, but have a tendency to fall out of year ears during play sessions. The cables also annoying in that you feel them move over your skin as you move around. I then purchased some 40 dollar Chi fi In Ear Monitors. Sound was actually fantastic, with very good bass. Beat Saber literally rocked. However, the cable was a pain to route neatly on the Quest 2. My family also didn't like having it attached as they don't like using IEMs, didn't want to share IEMs, so it got unplugged and removed a lot. It became a hassle. Went back to stock sound for awhile, until I saw these on Amazon. Found some YouTube videos that gave favorable enough reviews to give them a shot. What one person thinks is acceptable audio quality varies from person to person. And Amazon's flexible return policy makes trying them out a breeze. So, what do I think of them? There pretty nice, and I'll be keeping them. Sound quality: Definitely better than stock audio, better bass and volume, while sounding clear. Are they better than the IEMs I tried? Nope, not even close. Wish there was a way to have them fit/press tighter to your ears. When you manually press them closer they sound richer and have more bass. Overall they work well. Build quality and installation: Solid build quality, easily adjustable. Kind of pain to push onto the Oculus Elite Strap, so tight it left some scratches on the top edge of the strap. Not casually noticeable, but there there. Wish the wires were a little thicker. They work, but not sure long term how they will hold up when moving the earpieces around. Looks: Wish they came in white, but the black looks nice on the headset. I use the VRcover interface, and was able to tuck the cable behind the cover, for a clean look. Convenience: Very high. No more dangling cables, easy to adjust height and position on ears. Lightweight. doesn't impact placement on my AMVR stand. I'll be keeping these, my daughter said she loves them. The only reason I'm not going 5 stars is because I would like to have a tighter fit on my ears. They lay on the ears well, but they are not like a good pair of standalone headphones in that regard. If they were tighter, the sound would bump up another notch. ... show more

  • Decent sound. The wire is too short and installation is a little difficult (elite strap)
Color: for quest 2
I'm not usually one to complain about installation, because you usually do it once and even if it's a pain, you don't have to do it again. But it in this case I felt differently. I have the Elite strap and it is a really tight fit. I don't enjoy taking the straps off the Quest because I'm always worried I will damage the headset. But in this case, to get the wiring the way I wanted it, I had to unhook the straps several times. They aren't easy to take off. Since they are on-ear headphones, they of course keep your ears a little warmer and you'll feel them, but I can't hold it against them, for that reason. However, this is where being able to put them off and on easily would have been nice. Which brings me to my second gripe, the left wire being too short. I appreciate that they put in the thought to keep the wire short so it doesn't dangle around but the left side is just much too short. The best fit for me is to push the ear cups back as you should be able to see in the picture. Well, the wire is close to fully extended and so I wasn't even able to route the wire behind the strap to hide it a little more. It's somewhat minor but unfortunate in my opinion. For the two aforementioned reasons, I'm giving it 4 stars. Because otherwise, once they are on and adjusted, they do the trick rather nicely. I own a good set of bluetooth headphones that I used to plug to my Quest sometimes when playing. But I wanted an integrated solution for convenience. The sound on these Quest headphones do not compare well to bluetooth set but the price is not comparable either. I am not audio expert but I did do a sound check on these and while bases don't go very deep, trebles are good and mids seem fine. Overall the sound is fair for $42. I haven't had these for very long but so far I am happy with the purchase. I'll update if things change. I am not sure about the durability of the 3D printed mounts. ... show more

  • Pleasantly surprised, an excellent/convenient upgrade in audio and immersion
Color: for quest 2
I never really had a problem with the Quest's speakers until I upgraded to the Quest 2. I was looking for something to help upgrade the audio experience, as well as be tangle-free, and less cumbersome than having to unplug my headphones from my PC and still have to deal with the long cable. These headphones are perfect for really any VR Gaming experience. Vocals are very clear and bass, while not super intense, has a decent kick to it that makes sound effects in games sound a lot more realistic. I was surprised to hear just how much in-game sound I was missing out on listening from just the stock speakers. It also isolates a lot of outside noise, which only adds to the experience and makes gaming even more enjoyable. There is no sound leakage and the headphones rest gently on your ears and aren't too uncomfortable. However for me, I did find that the plastic connector to the strap tended to bother me a lot after 3+ hours of gaming, however I don't game for that long often enough for it to be a major complaint. I don't really have any complaints about these headphones except for the build quality and installation. Although the Elite strap already feels cheap, these headphones also feeling semi-cheap, just lessen the overall visual appeal. Also installation was a little difficult and took a lot of patience to get it to fit just right on me. Be wary of portability, these didn't fit in my case while they were attached to the Quest 2, and with installation being a little difficult I wouldn't want to have to take it off and install it again. It's very much meant to be a more of a permanent audio replacement to the stock speakers. ... show more
