I got sick and tired of those little battery-operated drug store beard trimmers. They're a pain. Won't cut through gnarly beard hair. Tough to trim a straight line like the moustache end. Batteries wear out fast. This little guy works great. Nice clean lines. Cuts right down to the skin if you want it to, about as clean as an electric razor -- so I use it now for a hair-free neck instead of a razor. Very powerful, compared to the those battery-based toys. But that's about it. The plastic guards aren't rounded and they dig into your skin a bit. I bought another pair of some name brand ones with a vacuum from TJ Maxx for 20 bucks and I use those more often now.
