    • This pedal is amazing on bass
This pedal can do just about anything, from the Metallica kill'm all to foo fighters and tool. As a bassist in a cover band, we play a variety of blues, rock, metal, and industrial music. A little research about some songs, and you'll find that some form of a proco rat was/is used. This pedal not only gives you most of the rat versions, but also you get an extra, "clean rat" setting. The only thing I may change is to socket the chip, on at least channel A. As such, it's still an amazing pedal. Now, on bass...here's what I noticed. The low end....you don't necessarily lose the lows, but you do lose the "boominess" of the bottom end. The low end gets tighter and seems to sit just above of the kick drum when in a mix. This is great for controlling the low-end in difficult rooms. Another nuance I noticed...if you have other overdrives/distortion with a blend control....you'll want to place this after those effects to get everything to play nice together. If you're wanting a versatile distortion, get a rat, but if you want a versatile distortion on steroids, this is what you need. ... show more
