Description

The DOD CARCOSA fuzz is a doorway into an alternate fuzz Universe, where classic tones of Legend coexist with splattered and shattered Pollock abstractions. Combining the carcosa's wide-ranging after Bias control with two toggle positions creates tones that range from porcine fatness to desiccated shards. This versatility makes the CARCOSA fuzz a good companion for dirty or clean amps. True bypass, tons of output, and the visage of the King in yellow sets the stage for fuzzy madness. The dod CARCOSA fuzz has an exaggerated mid- range and treble character that help it stand out in a mix. It has been designed to cut through a dense and heavy band but still have great note articulation with chords. However, when extreme Bias (after) ranges are selected many wild and over-the-top sounds are possible.

  • This converted me to fuzz.
I'm not into fuzz pedals. I've used other people's pedals and found them... silly. They're cool for awhile, but sound a bit old-fashioned and cheesy. Yes, it's fun to play with, but it gets old quick. However... I've been getting back into early Black Sabbath, and since I don't have any distortion pedals, I figured I might as well get something gnarly and nasty. This pedal seemed good on the YouTube videos I watched, and the pedal was inexpensive. So, I figured it was worth a shot. The first time I plugged it in and played a power-chord, I literally said "Oh, wow." This thing doesn't sound like the early Hendrix, Rolling Stones "Satisfaction" kind of fuzz. It's got attitude. I messed around with the knobs to dial in the level I wanted, then played the opening to "Spirit in the Sky". Awesome. I dropped down a bit and played some "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" ....it's a revelation. This pedal sounds HUGE. I'm a fuzz convert. You can tune it down a bit and play some ZZ Top, or crack it up and play some metal. It's blast. ... show more

  • Lots of awesome fuzz tones!
This thing rips! So many different fuzz sounds to dial in and the sound quality is awesome! The pedal is a solid metal construction and I love the cool artwork. I have had a Big Muff and a Joyo Voodoo Octave and the Carcosa blows them away. The only bad thing is the blue on/off LED is blindingly bright. ... show more

  • Exactly what he wanted!
This item was a birthday present for my husband. He has raved about this pedal since getting it. In his words it's exactly the silent he was looking for, for doom metal. I liked this particular company because they also had patch cables and picks that came with the pedal and it was the same price as another company that did not include those two items! ... show more
