  • USE OF JACK
Color: Grey Style: Floor Jack
Very sturdy....heavy built. Needed a very low jack for my Maserati GT. Easily goes under with room to spare. For those negative reviews, It's heavy, so of course it is awkward. Takes 10 or more pumps.....so what. Note, do not use on a gravel or soft surfaceas as it needs to move as it raises. If gravel, use plywood under wheels (18" X 36") example to allow movement. As for lowering quickly, bull. You can let this down VERY slowly so it looks slow motion. If needed, practice a couple times before use. It's NOT the jack....it's the person using the jack at fault for rapid drop. ... show more

  • Decent jack
Color: Grey Style: Floor Jack
Not a bad jack for the price. Just make sure you follow set up instructions and the pump works smoothly. The lowering of the jack isn't smooth regardless of how easy you let the screw loose. The first crack of the screw is a sudden drop of a several inches before the pressure equalizes and slows the drop best situation. If you really don't pay attention and turn the screw much farther than breaking it loose and you will have the tires on the ground before you know it. But that's also an issue with any budget priced jack. It gets 4 stars because it's just not smooth moving it into position or when lowering and the fact that it's built pretty solid compared to some of the other cheaper low profile jacks. Had it been built cheaper it would have been a 3 as it wouldn't be anything better than the others yet cost a little more. If it would have been smoother in the lowering it would be a 5 because it would have exceeded my expectations at the price point. It's 4 because it's just ok for what you paid. ... show more

  • On Board When Boondocking
Color: Grey Style: Floor Jack
Ok here’s the story- A couple years ago, spent the day boarding, I blew a tire on debris on the way home- ugh! No signal! I never realized how difficult it was to change a tire using the standard issued cranking jack. I am not big in stature. I do not have a lot of strength in my arms. Took me over an hour to change the tire. (Slippery, long handled, awkward). I swore, never again! I found this compact jack- threw this in the Subie hoping never to have to use it. Flash forward-Remote logging trail...punctured side wall, no signal. The compact, light weight, low clearance features made all the difference. A couple of pumps and we are off and running trails again. I know some have given less stars. I hope to only use this on the rare misadventure. This jack has replaced the mfg issued crank style scissor jack in my light SUV. ... show more

  • DANGEROUS BEWARE
Color: Grey Style: Floor Jack
First I would like to say that I wish Amazon would extend the return policy on items like this floor jack. That being said, I drive a Honda CRV and this is not a heavy vehicle. When I first received it I tried to jack up the drivers front tire just to see if it would lift at all. As soon at I made contact to the vehicle, this jack was making some strange noises I've never heard from a floor jack before. It sounded like a wooden pirate ship creaking while at sea and it also made this faint whistling sound. However, that being said it was holding pressure and I just assumed it was a new jack sound. Hinges moving for the first time, first time under load, new paint scraping and breaking in, etc. I then slowly released the pressure and put it back into its shipping box and placed it in the cargo area of my car letting it rest until the first roadside emergency; better than those scissor jacks right? Well, today was the big day! I got a low tire pressure alarm on my dash so I pulled into a parking lot of a shopping center, picked out a nice flat and less populated area in the parking lot and proceeded to change the tire. Once I got my jack under the vehicle and jack stand on standby I proceeded to jack up the vehicle. I was nearly at the max height and the tire still hasn't come off the ground enough. Then that "old ship sound" started again and all of a sudden a loud pop and the vehicle jolted. At first I thought the vehicle was settling on the jack plate. I slowly started to add more pressure but again, slowly. I heard a whine sound and all of a sudden the car dropped 1-2 inches. WHAT THE?!?! Nope, I was done, not risking a car falling on my legs. I ended up changing the tire with the factory scissor jack that came with the vehicle. Once I came home I went to set up a return with Amazon because this jack is unsafe to operate and needs better quality control and testing. I purchased this jack in July 2020 and Amazon said returns are not available after August 1st 2020; really 1 month on a floor jack? This is not something you typically test and use every day, most people buy, put it aside and have it to have it ready to go when needed. Kind of like a fire extinguisher, you don't test them prior to a fire to see if they work. You just expect them to work when you need it. I really don't know what you can use this on, a bicycle maybe. A Cr-v is not a heavy vehicle and that was my experience, I would suggest you look for something safer to use and don't be baited by the low price tag as I was. Thanks and I hope this helps you out. ... show more
