  • Great Piece of Bike Kit
Color: Silver
This is another well thought product from PRO BIKE. The kit has almost all the bits you need and setting the torque value is quick and simple. The carrying case is well made and holds everything securely in place. The small size allows you to throw into your car for adjustments away from the shop. In my estimation, a very good value. ... show more

  • Great tool, great price!
Color: Plata Mate
Solidly built. Seems high quality. Have used it for the last couple days building up a new bike… I have had high-end bikes that I build myself for decades… i've always claimed I could use my hand to feel newton meters properly… and because I've been too cheap to purchase one… So considering I spend up to $10,000 on a bike I figure I can spring for 50 bucks or so to play it safe and get an accurate reading… so simply put a great product, good price, pleased with my purchase. ... show more

  • Nice little tool and much cheaper than the big guys!
Color: Chrome Vanadium Steel
I read a bunch of reviews on various bike sites and came to this one as it was reasonably priced. They are made in Taiwan (I believe) and are accurate enough for my simple needs not working in a pro shop and not having pro skills. It comes with the bits/adapters which probably truly makes it "bike" specific. There are a variety of different listings for this one. I decided to get this after stripping a part but also after using and even just torquing simple parts I was shocked that in a few cases I wasn't torquing things enough! (Lack of experience and knowledge I suppose!) ... show more

  • Great, well priced torque wrench; would benefit from prioritizing Nm support
Color: Chrome Vanadium Steel
I purchased this to help me make frequent adjustments to a carbon bike over the first few months of ownership. Bottom line is that I'm really pleased with this and it does the job well. Pros: -Priced lower than competition. -Accurate when compared to Parktool "travel" sized adjustable torque wrench -Good assortment of bits that fit nearly any lower-torque requirements of road bike assembly -Good carrying case. Durable and fits all of the parts nicely. Cons: -Prioritizes inch-pounds over newton meter (Nm). This may be a really minor thing to some, but all of the torque specs for my bike are in Nm. The wrench is setup for even numbers of inch-pound (20, 25, 30, etc.), but odd combos of Nm (5.6, 4.2, etc.). It's possible to get even numbers, but you have to pay closer attention. I'd love a model that had nice even numbers for Nm. This is only a minor point, but not one I was aware of when I purchased. ... show more

  • PERFORMED AS EXPECTED
Color: Plata Mate
The torque wrench set looks of high quality. The driver is easily adjusted. Instructions are easy to understand. Like the calibration document and the conversion tables. Whole package looks great and well equipped.

  • As a first time user, the learning curve was quite short
Color: Silver
Since I did not already have a torque wrench, I am not comparing this to other torque wrenches, but rather to my previous strategy "estimate torque by the amount of pressure at a given lever length with my right arm." So one foot pound is one pound of pressure at one foot of leverage, or two pounds of pressure at 6" of leverage, etc. Of course, the metric system does not calibrate itself to feet and pounds, as you no doubt know, but little bolts get hand pressure, while big bolts get arm pressure, and huge bolts get more pressure than body weight with big lever arms. This is a little torque wrench, for "hand and arm" pressure. I still need to apply the same pressure, but there is a "spring-loaded" "click" when I reach the point that the wrench is set to. As the instructions point out, you can learn what to expect by setting the torque very low, near the bottom of the range, which is quite easy to exceed with gentle hand pressure. Also, if you haven't used caliper tools, you may be surprised that the adjustment (activated by pulling down/up on a collar around the shaft), moves up and down in a screwing motion, with the smallest increments marked around the circumference, and the larger increments marked longitudinally along the shaft. So you get it close, then dial in the detail by rotating part of a single rotation. In practice, bike bolts are all set to major increments, not minor ones. So in use, I discovered that my handlebar bolts were close, but some were not tightened to the full torque specified, an d I was able to easily adjust this by first setting the torque to "5", feeling the torque all the way around the set of 4 bolts, then increasing it to the specified "6" and tightening each one a bit further. So I am impressed. It is a quality tool, coming with a handwritten certification of calibration so I don't have to recalibrate (since I don't have another torque wrench), and I was able to get assurance of even torque at the proper tightness that neither has unnecessary flex nor results in a stripped bolt (a particular concern with carbon fiber parts. Of course, the first bolts I tightened while familiarizing myself with the tool were steel in aluminum, not steel in carbon :-)!) No point in raising the stakes unnecessarily! Also I liked the provided variety of heads and the small extension bar. While I have these already, it means I keep the torque wrench dedicated for torque, and use my other wrenches for everything else, so that the torque wrench stays in adjustment, as it should. ... show more

  • Great quality for the value
Color: Silver
It works and feels great. The range of torques is great for most bike parts, and I appreciate that it comes with bits and storage. I wish it came with another Torx bit, since none of these fit the ones on my disk rotors, but everything else is great for the price, so I can't complain too much. The setting can be a bit difficult to read from the handle, but you'll get used to it with practice. For me, it is set at the next whole number when the number itself (on the shaft) is about half cut off with the handle at 0 below it. As the instructions state, remember that the lowest settings produce a much more subtle "click", so make sure you go slow and steady while only turning from the handle. It's less of a click and more of a small "drop" where it gives way a short distance once you've reached the right torque. To help make it stay calibrated/accurate longer, remember to reset it to 2 Nm when you're done with it. ... show more
