This sticker printer works well within its limitations. Those limitations are: 1) Prints only in black and white. This printer doesn’t have ink. Instead, it projects heat onto thermal paper, which then pulls the color off the bottom layer and brings it to the top layer. You can only get a single color since only one color can be on the bottom layer of the paper. In this case, that color is black. The white is simply the part of the paper that isn’t exposed to heat. That said, after the printing is done, you can use marker pens to add your own colors to the printed sticker. We used water-based marker pens, which worked well, but with a cavate: the ink can smudge when applying it, so you must be careful. After a few minutes, it dries and won’t smudge unless it gets wet. This becomes an issue if you intend to color these and stick them to a water bottle, but is less of an issue if the stickers are kept in a dry environment. 2) Prints vector/clipart style images better than photographic/pictures. The best images are ones that don’t have a background or shading. Solid colors are best. While it can print shades, it tends to detract from the object in the picture. For instance, if you take a selfie and print it out, chances are it won’t look the best. However, if you take a hand-drawn illustration with solid and clearly defined colors (especially ones with outlines), chances are it will look fine. 3) Prints on curled paper. Because this is a really small printer, it uses rolled-up paper. Once it comes out of the printer, the sticker has a significant curl. If you attach the sticker right away on a flat surface, this isn’t a problem. But if you want to save the sticker for future use, I recommend placing it inside a hardcover book and letting it sit for a day or two. That will help flatten it out. 4) The sticker paper is thin. When I measured the sticker without the backing on, it didn’t even show a measurement on my caliper measuring tool. When measuring with the backing, it barely registers as 0.1 mm thick. This is not the card thickness you will find on premade stickers, such as popular ones of anime characters. ### Conclusion ### I love the freedom to print our own stickers rather than being restricted to what’s sold by third parties. That alone makes this sticker printer a good value and useful device. Great for those who are creative and crafty. Perfect for personal and school projects for kids. The app was easy to set up and use. So long as the limitations mentioned above are not an issue for you, I recommend this Mini Printer-Inkless Sticker Printer by PokeLabel. Just keep in mind it only comes with a small sample of paper, so you will need to purchase more to do anything significant with it. PokeLabel claims you should only use their brand with the printer, too. So that’s something to consider when ordering. ... show more

I got this to print simple images to put into my journal. The printing is good enough and fast. Not having to worry about ink is very nice. If you are looking for something to print out simple images or stickers without a lot of detail, this is a very good option.

Overview: this cute little printer works exactly as advertised and is pretty easy to set up. The thermal label paper used doesn't have predetermined lengths so you can make stickers of a huge variety of sizes. The app is easy to use, the brand is fairly common so refills are far from difficult to find, and sometimes it's just fun to print little monochrome stickers for fun. Detailed Review: Packaging: The packaging for this is pretty close to perfect for what it's transporting. Very low-frustration unboxing experience as it's just a small box with the printer, wrapped in cellophane, the charging cable, and the manual. It comes with a roll of label paper in the machine but you will need to open it and set it up, but it's very easy to do so, and the manual has easy to understand instructions in there for that. Use: Downloading the app was really easy, you just search for the name in the manual on the Google Play store if you're running android (I do not have access to an iOS device to use that app store), and install. Linking your phone to the device is slightly more complicated, but the included manual is really helpful there. Then you can just choose what to print and it's done pretty quickly. Quality: The first thing you need to understand that since this is a basic thermal printer, it is a monochrome printer. That means it can do black, white, and gray and that's about it. There are some label refills that are colorful, so you can switch out the white with that color if you use them, but you're not getting full color pictures unless you're coloring them yourself after the fact. I did a monochrome quality test, basically just a picture meant to show how well it works, and it's good for the size of print you're getting. You can see in the attached pictures how it doesn't do gradients perfectly well, but it does handle detail surprisingly well. For text, it's generally perfect. Overall, it's a great little printer, and whether you're using it to legitimately label things or just having fun making black-and-white stickers, you're probably going to enjoy it. I can definitely recommend it as an additional tool for the print-happy person in your life, or for anyone that just likes having ridiculous amounts of stickers. ... show more

I don’t often review things but I made an exception to this product. I received it yesterday and charged it, following the instructions. I downloaded the app and set up the paper. Once it was fully charged I attempted to print. Attached are pictures of the image and a picture of the printed picture. As you can see, the quality is low. Also, the description notes that this prints and comes with refills for stickers. Not the case: my item came with what appears to be receipt paper; not stickers.
