Welds really well. Arrives in a super solid box with lots of foam, so it arrived in perfect shape unlike my yeswelder that I bought. While this welder is more expensive, you get a spoolgun as well as gas regulator and hose. You would have to buy these items separately with the yeswelder. Also, this welder is rated to 3/8 mild steel and aluminum (1/4 for the yeswelder 205). All the settings for the machine are in inches or gauge thickness, which I like. No auto settings based on metal thickness or similar, but they give you the good ol chart inside the door. Works for me. So far I've only done one project with this, and the rest of my use has been practice on 1/8 and 3/16 steel. Provided settings are pretty good for those. No aluminum yet for me. If you are looking for a good MIG get this one. If you buy a yeswelder I will bet it shows up damaged--mine did. I returned it and bought this Mig 180, and it works great. I recommend it. Certified welder/mechanic. Bought this based on a tight budget. Having owned many migs including esab 250, miller 211 auto set and various others over the years this machine is very impressive as far as duty cycle and metal it lays down. So far I have mainly used the mig on 110 and 220 and just played a bit with the stick but so far so good . Have not tried the spool gun yet since I havent needed it ... show more

I bought this welder, and I am very pleased with it. It is a MIG. A stick welder and I can. I can weld aluminum with this blue gun that is included mine. Every T That can't get any better than this.... That can't get any better than this. No, but this is 16. That is just insane. Let me call you more case around about 16, right on the morning. Look at that thing. Holy mackerel, what a beautet me call you more case around abouts.....ane. Let me call ytter than this.....is is 16. That is just insane. Let meI don't. I haven't used the mig on it yet , however over a 2 day period I stick welded wear liners in a good size rock chute. Using 7018 rod. It didn't have any problems what so ever, never over heated or shut down. It's a good little machine.

I was looking searching for a new MIG welder to replace my old welder. Requirements were dual voltage, ability to use spool gun, and potentially able to spray arc weld. Decided on the Primeweld MIG 180. Not only was it able to use a spool gun, it includes one. It does show potential to spray weld. The stick weld capability was not much of a concern, but will use it over using the stick function on my TIG welder. Uses Tweco 100 series consumables. Customer service is another reason I chose Primeweld. They have an excellent reputation as far as customer service. And unfortunately I had to contact them. The flow meter had a nick in the sealing surface causing a leak at my gas bottle. A quick message along with a few pictures, they had a new flow meter shipped within 15 minutes of my initial contact. ... show more

I am just a hobbyist but I have used a Century 160 amp mig welder for 25 years and have just not been able to ever to make a weld that looked close to a professional weld. It finally quite so I replaced it with the Prime welder. I absolutely love the Prime welder. It seems to be very good quality and with it I can make a weld that looks close to Professional quality. At least I was able to gut the Century and make a very nice welding cart from it for my Prime welder. ... show more
