  • Great clarity for those of us with astigmatism
I really like a red dot sight for their ability to be mounted practically anywhere. However my astigmatism makes them look like red blobs now since my eyes have gotten worse. So I tried some prism sights and like a regular rifle scope I do not have the same issues as a red dot sight. My only issue is that they need to be treated just like a traditional scope in regards to eye relief. Once I got past the more restrictive mounting options I was sold on prism sights. These Primary Arms SLX sights are approximately half the weight and size of my older prism sights which are made by Burris. The sheer amount of mounting options that come standard with these is fantastic as well! It appears that some other companies are making some similar small lightweight prism sights as well so only time will tell how these stack up against the competition. The different color illumination options as well as the different reticles available are also huge pro's in my opinion. ... show more

  • overall not a bad scope
not bad. Seems to hold zero. looks to be good quality and build. The only complaint i have is the reticle is not as clear as i would like it to be. But, of course i am not expecting it to be like my ACOG which is way more expensive. So for the money, i would say it is worth it.

  • Best in class
For what this optics offers considering the price point, we win. I have my mounted on a DDV7 Pro and love the versatility it offers. Highly recommend. Solid product.

  • Have Very Good Eyes...?
Keep in mind the chevron is small, ranging is more practical if your in an fixed ambushing position, though useable on the 3x for ACSS. With the 1X models, do not buy w/o looking thru one first. Even with corrective lenses the chevron on a 1X ACSS may look like a malformed "-" or more likely ".". It IS that small, Yes even after adjusting the diopter, suite the background. Most reviewers ignore this fact intentionally. The size of the ACSS reticle in the advertising is exaggerated for the 1X to 3X models. But at 1X the Chevron is ridiculously small unless you still have 20-10 vision. Your ammo needs to be compatible too. Nice scope if it fits your needs. For me a light/compact handy rifle rifle, fun but can be pressed to do more. ... show more

  • Great sight for the money
Very happy with this sight. Works well for my old eyes and is nicely accurate. Good quality and rugged as I have already dropped it (butter fingers). Great option for those that need a nice sight and reticle but don't want to pay a fortune. Also it is nice that the reticle is etched so is there even if the battery dies. Clarity of the optic is surprisingly good. ... show more

  • Great Prism. Great reticle
This is the ACSS reticle that was promised in the 2x, but didn't deliver. My friend with terrible eyesight even said he liked it and was going to buy one. I don't know about longevity, but my 2x is still fine on my AR after a year. The etched reticle idea is perfect. I put this 3x on my Tavor 7 and now it's ready for the urban zombie apocalypse! ... show more

  • It's a great ACOG alternative for a fraction of the price.
Put this on my RDB, loving it so far. Pros: Less than half a pound weight. Clear glass with a nice reticle. Bright illumination with long battery life and shake awake. Generous eye box. 3x is a great magnification out to 3-400m. Cons: Illumination of the reticle is noticeably uneven, especially at lower brightness levels. ... show more
