Size:Single Pod | Style Name:Pod Prepara's Herb Savor Pod 2.0 is the new and improved smaller version of Prepara's beloved Herb Savor. This pod is designed to neatly store fresh herbs and prolong the life of fresh cut herbs for up to three weeks. The new 2.0 version is 20% larger and features a hinged door for easy access. To use, open the hinged door and place your clean, fresh herbs in the pod with stems pointing down. Pull out the green stopper at the base of the pod, fill the pod with fresh water through the stopper opening and replace the stopper. You can store your Prepara Herb Savor Pod 2.0 neatly inside a refrigerator door. The herbs will draw the water up through their stems and stay fresh thanks to the water at the base of the pod. For best results, change and refresh the water on a regular basis. Also great for asparagus. BPA free, top rack dishwasher safe.

If I had a place to grow herbs, I would. But I don't, and so I'm always buying bunches at the grocery to use in a single dish. If I don't make the effort to preserve them (process them into a paste and freeze in an ice cube tray for "fresh" frozen herb bricks or, in the case of mint and rosemary, leaving them out to dry), after a few days I'll be sadly tossing out the limp and/or rotting remainders. To keep herbs fresh for more than 2 days, I've tried wrapping them in a barely damp paper towel and storing in the vegetable bin, or standing the bunch in a jar with a bit of water and covering with a plastic bag to make a "greenhouse". Both have proven pretty iffy. So when I saw these pods, I was ready to give them a shot, even if I doubted they'd work. When I unpacked them, I found my self nursing a spark of hope -- probably because they look so much like the astronaut cryo pods in every space movie ever made :) I tested them out on leftover bunches of basil and asparagus. Four days later, I used a few of the asparagus -- which looked fresh as they had on day 1; the basil also still looked great. The basil made it through a full week, which is a record in my house. And the asparagus are miraculous -- still firm and fresh after 10 days. I'm thrilled to pieces! I expect results to vary, of course but, based on these 2 tests, I'm ready to say that these pods are miles better than anything else I've tried -- and I'm already recommending them to friends. ... show more

They look great in my fridge door, great size and meet their purpose to keep veggies fresh but lid does not have a proper closure design, does not snap in enough and therefore they open easily while sitting in the fridge. Had to put a rubber band around them to keep the lid closed, rubber bands take away from the sleek modern look. ... show more

Got it to see if herbs such as cilantro, culantro, and parsley stay fresh and last longer in the fridge instead of drying out in 3 days. So far it looks and feels like it will last but will update after a few uses. Update: OMG! A must get! I was like, “ah, I will get it, it might make my cilantro and other spices last a week longer at best” Well, I bought a cilantro bunch on March 4th (second picture) and by March 15th (third pic) it was still looking fresh and tasty... but today, March 29 (forth pic) it still looks fresh and tastes fresh! All I did was to cut the very bottom tips when I put the cilantro in the fridge the first day and replace the water every week or so! I love it!!!! Wow! WTH!!! I am getting another one! And giving it as Xmas gifts as well! ... show more

I like the concept of these and that they take up less space than putting the herbs in a little cup of water in the fridge. With that said, I can't say they they work better than a cup of water so it really just comes down to storage pref. I happen to like these for how the items are stored, but again...I don't feel it did much to extend the life of the herbs. ... show more

I was very surprised with how long this keeps herbs fresh, my cilantro, dill and even spinach leaves have lasted almost two weeks and they still look fresh! It also organizes in my fridge so nice, and they are larger then I thought, so they fit some pretty large bunches. Just put some water at the bottom and good to go. You do need herbs in bunches for this to work, I made the mistake of picking some mint leaves off my plant only to realize I needed the stems on it to keep in the water so it stays fresh but out of the water. ... show more

I once purchased a set of herb saver pods from a different company, close to ten years ago. Those ones lasted me up until recently. When looking for replacement pods, I found these. They are a slightly different design than my old ones but I figured I'd try them out. Unfortunately, They are nowhere close to the quality of my previous pods. The first time I went to open one, it broke. There are two small plastic hinges on each pod. The plastic is weak and cracked instantly. Now I have to use produce rubber bands around the top of the pods to make sure they stay shut and have to be extra careful when opening it, to ensure that it does not break further. This does preserve the life of your herbs, but the lid is kind of annoying to figure out how to open. Once you get it down, it works great, but you have to essentially squeeze the back plastic piece to open the top plastic cover. Doesn’t fit the whole bunch of herbs, but I end up chopping and freezing the other half which is good because I like having fresh herbs on hand and for some things I can just use my frozen herbs. ... show more
