“Basic” isn’t a negative description - this is a good no-frills option for anyone who wants something with clean lines. The handles are surprisingly heavy brushed silver that looks a lot richer than the stock photos. Rather than mounting on the wall (I rent), I bought a set of plain metal furniture legs and added them so it’s freestanding in my craft studio. Keep in mind that this is meant to be a wall mount, so it doesn’t have a backing included; this could easily be remedied with a thin piece of particleboard. Re: Construction. It came together in a couple of hours, including a break in the middle for a snack. I mostly used a power drill, with some hand tightening of screws. It’s all screws as well, no wooden pegs. I’ve assembled a lot of flat pack furniture, so the diagram wasn’t hard to follow, but could see how it would be challenging to someone less familiar with “exploded” views. The doors are interchangeable, and you can decide if you want the handles at the top or bottom, depending on how you plan to use the cabinets. The only caveat I’d offer is that the hinges are a pain to adjust so that the doors are evenly aligned - not a structural issue, but annoying enough that I can’t quite rate it five stars. That’s somewhere it would help to have a second pair of hands to hold the doors steady, but I managed fine by myself. It did come with a few chipped edges on the pieces, but for $107 I can live with those just fine. ... show more

Did come with a scratch here and there and one door had a chip in it, hinges are a pain to adjust and hard to get a tight gap, but with all that said for the price they are very nice and seems sturdy, I also used wood glue as extra strength where the pieces connect. Overall very happy great deal.

Well engineered with all the holes lining up and no hardware issues. Took me about 1/2 hour a unit and I got 4 of them. I am put them on top of the taller unit in this style. I feel I should address some other pointed out issues. 1. It is a box, with only 9 pieces in the shipping box. 2 side panels with lots of holes, a top and a bottom with holes only on the edge, two doors, a back and a shelf with no holes and two back supports. Line up all the brown edges, keep the holes on the inside and there you go, no instructions needed. The pictures provided in the box show all of this. 2. The back in not cardboard, it in HDF. Look it up. Since it has no weight on it, so what? It looks nice. 3. If the bolts are tight and the back in nailed on it is very rigid. 4. I was itchy when I was done putting 4 together, I took a shower. 5. Packaging was very good and no damage was on the finish. 6. The hinges are six way adjustable, if the door doesn't line up go on Youtube and see how to use these. Mine are perfect. 7. The shelf is MDF, look it up, I put wood 1x1 wood strips screwed under the shelf to keep it in tension in the front and back, no sagging. 8. I mounted these to the wall with screws and a large washer to studs in the wall. They are not coming out. If I were going to use them free-standing on the wall I would put a 1x1 cleat on the bottom back for support. You will hardly see it. 9. There was a new thing smell when I put them up but that is gone after a day. It is in a 12x7 room closed up. My new truck smelled longer than these did. I do not have any super ninja building skills and these worked out great. Take your time and look at the pictures on the paper. The finish looks good and I think they are well made. ... show more

There is nothing Elite about these! Don't waste your time or energy. It would be one thing if I had a set that didn't align properly but I purchased 2 of these cabinets at the same time. First, One item arrived with a strange wax like coating over all 3 doors. It initially wasn't a deal breaker b/c they are going in a garage wood shop and will get dirty and dusty so I continued to assemble. One of the assembly screws wouldn't fit snug but everything else seemed to go smoothly until it came to the cabinet doors. I adjusted everything according to the instructions and none of the doors align properly on cabinet one. In addition to large gap in double doors, each one stair steps. I measured the doors and they all are different measurements (off by several mm.) I tried swapping doors and hinges to get it as close as possible and well you can see the result. I didn't even bother adding the door handles on the second cabinet b/c upon assembling the framework I ran into the same screw that wouldn't drive in all the way. Same hole. So this is a miscalculation in their assembly. I used my own screws for both cabinets for that same hole. The second cabinet at least the doors align for the most part except; I had the same issue with the gap between the double doors. I also noticed on the second set of cabinets the black coating which is some kind of laminate had 3 large bubbles forming rippled areas. Now I get to waste more of my time disassembling everything and box it all up. If you read the reviews most people complain about gaps in doors and them not aligning. Over all my expectations weren't super high due to the price point for each cabinet; however I didn't expect so many issues with each one. I'm going to either take the time to make them myself and do it right or pay more to get something higher quality. Prepac more like Precrap. ... show more
