  • LOVE this!
Color: Elegant Red
I had recently bought a highly-rated apple corer/slicer to replace my current one that no longer easily cut the apple. The other corer/slicer I bought was horrible! I was finally able to get it down 1/3 inch at which point it wouldn’t move any further. I decided to look for just an apple corer and bought this one. On the first use with a large apple, it went through very easily! Sure, you have to apply some pressure, but it easily went through. I went from the top of the apple down, but after reading that others found it easier to start from the bottom side of the apple, I’ll try that next. It was easy to pull the handle back up to remove the core once it was all the way through, and the little lever to open the bottom slightly let the core fall out - SO EASY! I was then able to easily slice the apple. I found only the tiniest speck of the harder core part on one of the slices - it does a great job of removing the entire core. I plan on looking for a similar corer designed for small apples, but for large apples this one is great! ... show more

  • Husband didn't like it.
Color: Elegant Red
I bought this for my husband who loves apples. (He's hard to buy for.) I wrongly assumed that, like me, he didn't like biting into the core. He scoffed at the tool because he said he'd have no way to hold the apple as he ate it if he removed the center. Whatever. I used it and really liked it. It was easy to punch through the apple and I was still able to eat the apple with no problem. But I will concede that it's easier to eat if you cut it into sections after you core it, but I'm not admitting that to him. So once again, I'm using another of his gifts. Maybe, I'm unconsciously buying myself stuff, hmm... Anyway, buy it because I know you'll like it. ... show more

  • Does a great job at coring an apple and is easy to clean! Nice quality/features!
Color: Elegant Red
This does a great job at coring an apple, and is easy to clean. I bought this one and a different, almost identical one from a different seller. The other one was not quite as nice as this one.The finish on this one is brushed steel, and the other one I got was shiny steel, which was more slippery for my thumb when operating the thumb lever to release the core after coring an apple. I like the brushed finish on this one better overall. Also, the metal on this one seems slightly heavier gauge than the other one I bought which was cheaper. I returned the cheaper one. The cheaper one I'm sure would have worked just fine, but for a few extra dollars I think this one is even better, and may last longer (I'll never know, as I returned the other one before using it.). So, if you're going between this one and a different one that's less expensive, if price is really important to you or the benefits of this one I've mentioned above don't seem that important, then the one from the other seller will likely work just fine for you. But, for me, this one is worth the few extra dollars. ... show more

  • Far superior to traditional apple corers
Color: Happy Green
For a variety of reasons, including improved digestion, I needed to get more apples into my diet. It's easier on my teeth to cut them up, but kind of a pain to cut them up with a knife. I can be rather klutzy at times, and the traditional two-handed apple corers always made me nervous. They require so much downward pressure and come down fast with a lot of force, all while I don't have a hand free to secure the apple. So I'm always concerned that when it comes down, the apple is going to roll under the pressure and I'm going to somehow end up with a finger under there, or my cutting surface is going to slip out and go crashing to the floor, or both. And then there's the whole business of getting apple fragments out of all those crevices. It's sufficiently worrisome and annoying that I soon just gave up and said I'd much rather take my chances with the paring knife (where the main concern is cutting out the core without cutting myself). So many times, I wanted an apple and knew I should eat one, but didn't feel up to the whole annoying and scary rigamarole. I ran across this baby and had to give it a try. Wow!! Super easy, feels very safe, and no annoying cleanup process. Secure the apple with one hand (I find stem down works best), put the corer on top, rotate with very light pressure to break the apple skin, and push down easy. Then rotate and pull it out, squeeze the handle to flip the core into the bin (might need a finger to help it out), rinse, and you're ready for next time. Then two quick, safe, easy slices with the paring knife and it's good to go. No safety concerns or messes because you never let go of the apple. No blade crevices to trap food and germs. After a few times, you can do the whole process in less than 5 seconds. Seriously... 2 to core the apple, 2 or 3 to rinse. I'm truly amazed and I'm eating way more apples now! I got the green one, and the color is vibrant and beautiful. It takes up a lot less space in the drawer than a traditional corer, and you're also much less likely to cut yourself while reaching for something else. Win win win. Couldn't be happier with this purchase! ... show more

  • Works well!
Color: Black
There's a slight learning curve with hard fruit like pears, but it works great. With hard fruit, you twist it just a small amount back and forth to get it started, then push it through. If you twist it too much, it will spread the jaws open and risk bending the jaws. Other than that, it seems very sturdy and handled my 30 lbs of hard pears with no problems. ... show more

  • This thing is great!
Color: Elegant Red
I bought this to use for making holes in the center of sweet potatoes. I use them to make dog toys for my pup. I am so glad I bought this particular product. The handle makes it easy to position the corer to pierce the vegetable. And the release made it easy to remove the inter-circle of the vegetable. Great quality for a very low price. Cleans up easily as well. Would buy again without a second thought! ... show more

  • It's great
Color: Elegant Red
I was worried about my kids eating apples and not stopping at the middle and eating the seeds. They are toddlers. So I got this so that I could cut the cores before handing them the apple. Now I don't have to worry.
