Description

The TCT15 Trailing Sprayer helps make larger spraying jobs a breeze. All you have to do is simply pull behind a tractor or other vehicle, connect to the tractor's 12-volt battery, fill the 15-gallon plastic tank, and watch as the two nozzles spray over a 7-foot coverage area. The Shurflo 12 volt pump delivers up to 60 PSI and sprays at a rate of up to 1.8 gallons per minute. It also has a hand wand with a 15' hose for spot spraying. The frame of the sprayer is made of 3/4" powder-coated steel tubing, and the unit rolls on two 10-inch pneumatic tires. The tank also comes with a drain plug for quick clean up. The sprayer comes fully assembled and is covered by a 90-day limited warranty. I bought this to replace a similar FIMCO sprayer that I have worn out. For the most part, this is a much better sprayer. ## Positives: + Steel body SUREflow pump + Pump mounted on anti-vibration pad + Inlet is via a hose with removable filter; uses "red" coarse filter + Inlet hose enters through a grommet in the top of the tank and is repositionable ## Negatives: + They left out one 1/4" x 2" bolt; the bag was sealed and ships inside of the tank, so I know the bolt was not lost. + Only three mounting screws to secure the tank to the frame, as mentioned below + Pre-installed items needed to be tightened / checked - mounting bolts for tank to frame were loose - mounting bolts for pump to vibration block were loose, one not even tightened **Comparisons** + The spray body features 6 mount points, versus the 4 on the FIMCO sprayer - however it shipped with only 3 screws installed, no backups, and not at a pattern that would make sense (2 back, 1 middle, 0 front) - this was due to not aligning fully with the towing body. - I do not think this will be a problem but I will be modifying it over the winter so all six can mount + The pickup/vacuum side is through a submerged 1/2" hose that enters through a grommet on the top of the tank - the filter is a standard 1/2" twist on nut with a red coarse ss mesh filter - this is a huge improvement over the FIMCO sprayer, which has a 1/2" barbed connection on the side of the tank at the bottom, with a 1/2" inlet hose in the tank but the screen is actually in the fitting, not on the end. To clean the screen, you must remove the inlet hose; to remove the screen, you have to get a bit carried away with a screwdriver or knife (meaning, persuade it to come out, leaving it unusable). + The pump is a SUREflo pump and looks to be higher quality, with a steel body instead of plastic. It's also mounted on a vibration reducing mounting block - I wore out the FIMCO pump - the FIMCO pump mounted directly to the side of the tank; convenient but NOISY! ... show more

Suppliers of this class of sprayers generally deserve some criticism, and Precision Products is no exception. For the price, the quality of the components in the sprayer is good. Plan on taking all the threaded plumbing connections apart and putting them back together with Teflon tape; otherwise they will leak. The tires are pneumatic, and the wheels are plastic. The wheels slide over a fixed shaft attached to the frame of the trailer. Time will tell how this plastic-on-metal bushing arrangement will hold up; I've had my unit just a few months. The customer service representative I talked to was not attentive. My unit came with only three of four bolts holding the tank to the frame. I asked for replacement parts (bolt, flat washer, and split lock washer), emphasizing that the washers were missing as well as the bolt. I only received a replacement bolt. If you need replacement parts, have the representative repeat back to you the parts you need. The product descriptions do not give much information to help you decide whether to get a 15-gallon or a 25-gallon unit. I got the 15-gallon unit, and it works well for me. Fifteen gallons of water mixed with 1 cup of 2-4-D and a little less than 1/4 cup of dish soap (Dawn) is just right for my 0.5 acre of pasture, (I didn't feel the need to get an expensive surfactant to aid the 2-4-D.) I run my garden tractor at about five feet per second speed and about 6 feet between passes. (Your coverage may vary, your weeds may need a different concentration, etc.) If you don't mind a little tinkering, this is a good little sprayer. ... show more

I've had this unit for about 3 years now. Its great. I use it mostly for killing weeds in my backyard with some generic glyphosate. It is very easy to use, and the coverage is very good (one pass with the week killer and within a week all of the weeds are dead). It has held up very well for the time I have had it. I have had the following problems: - One of the tires goes flat. I just inflate it prior to use and it works. Not that big of a deal. - One time I didn't use all of the chemical in there, so I though I would leave it and use the rest the next weekend. Bad idea as the chemical got all slimy and clogged up the pump. It wasn't a huge pain to clean it out, but lesson learned. - Most recently after using it, I misplaced the drain cap. No idea what I did with it and I spent a while looking for it, but finally gave up. But its not the easiest to find replacement parts for this. All of my normal places where I go to buy parts don't have the parts here, and my email to the company asking where I could order the part went unanswered. So I like the product, but docked it 1 star because the parts aren't very easy to find. ... show more
