Haven't updated my rechargeable battery charger for a good 15+ years - I was excited to try a newer generation USB C charger with such large capacity - charging was really easy and took the included batteries to full in no time (I am assuming they were charged) - flashing green for charging and solid for full. I wont do a "scientific" review of the batteries like some other users but I mainly use these for my children's toys and some portable lights. so far it feels the voltage is really good (I can tell from the brightness) and have no needed a recharge after days of using these light.     • A good versatile charger plus great batteries
I've never owned rechargeable lithium batteries before. I've only ever used NiMH batteries, so this is my first adventure. I really like the charger that came with these batteries. I think that the coolest feature is that it can tell the difference between lithium and NiMH batteries and charges accordingly. I've used it to charge both types and it has worked great. One downside is that Amazon does not sell the 3500mWh batteries separately, only the 3300mWh ones but, that is just a minor complaint. I've read that Lithium batteries are superior to NiMH batteries. I just put these in a couple of my remotes. We'll see how long they last. ... show more

    • There is no mention of which lithium tech is used in these cells
It is surprising that there is no mention in product description of which type of lithium these cell are. Are these lithium-ion or LiFePO 4? Product description shows extremely long 20 year shelf life with a very high remaining state of charge, and a very high number of 1200 recharge cycle and with a 10 year lifespan. All of that and an operating temperature down to -68 F suggests a LiFePO 4 type cell, but there is no mention of it anywhere. These cells are very light and feel like a lion type cell, which is not anywhere close to the claimed description. The charger is very good with full automatic charge setting for every type of AA/AAA rechargeable cell, all the while each slot charges separately so a charge set can be comprised from every type of different cell. It will take time to properly test these 1.5V lithium cells but so far they are very good and built in controllers do hold the voltage. Unless this is some sort of new chemistry, I'm hoping that these are LiFePO 4 and not li-ion. ... show more

    • A great upgrade from old NiCd rechargeables
Back in the day I had a whole collection of NiCad rechargeable batteries. Of course, they gradually lost power until they were basically junk. Lithium Ion is the new technology and I'm anxious to see how these hold up. My impressions: The included charger charges the batteries quickly and they seem plenty strong. The charger requires you to supply your own USB wall base, but that's not a big deal. It's actually nice that you can throw away the cord that is included, and just use a standard USB-C cord instead. Time will tell how these hold up over the long term; I'll update my review if needed. ... show more

I wanted to try these rechargeable batteries out since I I always buy more. Having an 8 pack is a decent amount to always have on hand. The charger is nice since it is a smart charger. It reads the battery and changes from blue to flashing green while it charges. It turns solid green when fully charged. I put 3 batteries in a battery operated lava lamp to see how long they would last. I let it run for 5 days before it stopped working. The batteries still had charge in them to use in lower powered devices like remotes but not enough to run the lights and motor of the lamp. I would definitely get more in the future. ... show more

    • Versatile Charger and Impressive Batteries
The charger isn't as fast nor provides as much feedback as some others I own, but works well enough for both the included Lithium batteries and Ni-MH batteries (I tested both kinds). The included batteries weren't pre-charged, and I haven't had enough extensive use with them to test longevity or durability, but the quality seems fine. Unlike Ni-MH, which are 1.2V, these are the full 1.5V similar to alkaline batteries, so they work better in devices requiring that voltage (e.g. my hiking GPS). They also discharge more evenly than Ni-MH chemistry. ... show more

Nice little Kit. The batteries look nice, but the charger feels light, and the USB cord is very short. I have to try the batteries to see how long they last and how long it takes to discharge after charging. My first impression is that the price is a bit high for 8 AA batteries so I am giving it 4 stars assuming it does what it says it will do. I would give it 5 stars if the charger felt more substantial. Seems flimsy and the battery lights are not clear what they do like my other battery chargers. For reference and as per instructions: Constant blue light = no batterie installed. Purple or green flashing = charging. Purple or green light constant means fully charged. ... show more

These batteries are essential if you have kids that have electronic toys. I would always be changing batteries. But now with these rechargeable li-ion the battery life is great and when they’re dead, just throw them back in the charger and start over! Well worth it.
