The ability to run it off of batteries or a simple USB cord is great. The unit itself is well-made. Even after dropping it on a thin carpet a couple of times, it has shown no harm. Taking this out of the packaging I noticed the globe was loose from the base. The globe came completely off when I tried to take it out of the box. I was able to fix it, but I shouldn't have to.
