    • Doesn't fit a standard vacuum.
I wanted to split the hose from my vacuum so I could have my table saw and miter saw attached to the vaccum all the time. Although this conector doesn't really fit on a standard size vaccumm hose. I had to heat it up to make it soft so it could expand and fit the vaccum. Still it didnt work, the vaccum loses power when splitting the hoses . ... show more

I ordered various Powertec couplings and big gulp dust hood to make a hood / dust collection system for my table saw. I intentionally ordered all items from one brand to avoid fit-together hassles. Unfortunately nothing fits together or onto my shopvac hose or shopvac inlet. Sometimes the stated connection diameter is OD, sometimes it is ID, Is it so hard to include in the item description both ID and OD measurements? The items would work for the intended purpose if proper connection were possible. Amazingly, the company website product listing does not include double sided, preferably stepped, male connectors that would enable these things to connect. I wrote the company over a week ago through its website for advice on how to connect these things - no response. I'll try duct tape, or maybe a flexible rubber coupling can be made to work.
